I'm planning a mini 'ta-da' list and to do some bits that really need doing - I'm being bad and have the TV on for company and of course MSE
I've eaten too much (baked tattie) and drunk too much fizzy water!
I'm still *thinking* rather than doing! Had a rather unfruitful trip to Stromness and the red cross shop/local shops - and feel a bit sad about going all that way and only coming home with fruit and cheese
I was *hoping* for some bargains, but you can't get them all the time
PS Jealous of the bunting as well!Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:

I had another TWO pancakes so I bet I've eaten more than you!
Put the mix in the fridge now and washed up so it's not tempting me any more. Also remembered I didn't manage to Shred this morning, so I've still got that to look forward to later on! At least you got bread and cheese though, and cheery Stromness is always worth a visit! :j And no, sadly bargains aren't around all the time.
In fact, I'm really annoyed with myself today - the nursing home over the road had a kind of craft fair/50p sale on this afternoon, which I fully intended to go to, and then completely forgot about! Grrr! Mind you, we went last year, and the place had a really not very nice atmosphere, and Mr Daffs' mum had just died after being in one for 15 years, so we scarpered pretty quick. But I would have liked to pop over this afternoon and see what they had on sale. Ah well, my own daft fault for not remmbering!
Anyway, an update on the list:
* sewed cheery orange flowery bunting for friend's old fab orange VW camper (of which I am EXTREMELY jealous, so jealous in fact that I'm not sure she deserves bunting!)
* er, made a cup of tea and a pancake (and another one)
* cleaned kitchen, washed dishes, brushed floor, emptied bin
* spent half an hour in the garden, pruning acer, lopping bits off roses and privet, inspecting (resolutely green) tomatoes, chasing naughty snails away from my courgettes, inspecting slug damage on now non-existent cabbages etc... :rotfl:
* took photos of bunting
* put a load of washing on
* worked out how to make stupid fan noise on laptop stop - silly thing was still trying to connect to the printer (it's not plugged in)
Now sat on the sofa with PhD, will set the timer, I'm not going to move until I've done 45 mins PhD and 45 mins transcribing! :rotfl: Then all those pancakes will have gone down enough to Shred  and then a bit of cheeriness can start! :T0 -
Hope its going wellTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Cheery you sound so organised. I love the sound of the orange bunting and I, too am jealous of the campervan. Dont tell Fay but I envy her campervan so much. I want one, but I have diverted my attention to a landrover at the moment because I think it is more attainable. My nephew calls me Velma, (I have a Great Dane) because I spent so much time talking about buying a campervan and touring Europe. My OH thinks that it would be a bit extravagant to do that but I am still convinced it would be a good way to spend a year out.
I love the pancakes too, you seem to have them every day. This pancake maker must be fab but is it like one of the GF grills that are a b±±±±r to clean? Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. I'm well impressed at you making union jack cushions! Fingers crossed for the sewing machine!! I love mine, I'm not much good, and can barely sew a straight line, and sometimes I resort to hand sewing because it's easier and neater! :rotfl: but it's still fab! Can you show us pictures of your cushions, I'd love to see them! And your quilt sounds lovely - were you going to make like a duvet cover, or a kind of patchwork quilt style quilt for the top?
I didn't win the sewing machine but I didn't mind too much, I did win a bid on a fancy rucksack for my big holiday in October but I didnt' think I would win and so I bid on another one as well... so just hoping that the other one is super popular and I don't win it too......:o
I will indeed post pictures of the cushions once they're made as I'm really excited about making them!!
Well I think my plan is to make more of a quilt than a duvet although haven't got far with the planning. I've got the ideas for my bedroom in my head but need to get them out on paper so that I know what will work and what won't.
I bought a big frame today which is for a collage I did on Photobox of my pictures from my holiday last year. I got the collage for halfprice and then used my paypal balance to pay which is made up of survey money. I then got the frame from Argos using a £10 voucher from another survey company so had to pay £3 for it. So have paid £3 in total for a HUGE (20" x 30" - much bigger than i expected....:o) picture so I'm quite pleased with my MSE ways :money: I can be good when I try. (obv not going to mention the cheap meal I went for today in which the booze cost as much as the food......not so MSE....)I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills

I didn't win the sewing machine
Hi, I have been looking for a sewing machine too. My friend stayed with me last week and was reading my House Beautiful mag (ok so I its not very MSE but it is my equivalent to chocolate) and there is an advert for a sewing machine special offer of £150. She sews a lot and said it is a bargain. If you are interested let me know and I will root it out and send you the details. I know that £150 is a lot but it has lots of extras and I trust my friend so much as she is a fab seamstress and has taught me lots over the years.
Sorry for hijack Cheery. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -

Thanks Cherisong, really kind of you but sadly £150 is a bit over my limit. Although very reasonable for a brand new machine and if it hsa lots of extras I'm sure is a great bargain.
I was looking at the old machines that go for around the £35 mark.
I've seen a possible with a start price of £4.99 and no bidders although runs out on friday so still lots of time.I've got my own flat :j:j

Double hijack
Cherisong, my favourite magazine is Country Living (OK shoot me now chaps, tis just so pretty all the pictures and the 'country' stuff)
Anyway - I got my subby with my clubcard points and I'm pretty sure I saw House Beautiful on the list of available subscriptions
The clubcard deals site has the info - you pay in clubcard vouchers and they send you the subscription form - I think my magazine subby was £12 clubcard vouchers - so its a whopping saving (especially as its really 'free')
I got OH his mountain biking magazine and my son a subby of something as well as xmas gifts - its a great way to use them up (for me anyway)
But you probably know all this already!
Anyway - sorry for the double hijack cheery!
Hope the work/shred whent well
