Ok so i did day 2 of shred last night and i'm aching a little today :( I like it in a weird though - the feeling that i've worked my body! I was contemplatnig an hour at the gym tonight before going home to do shred but i get the feeling that won't happen!

To those of you thinknig about getting it, after 2 days i would recommend it - it takes me an hour at the gym to get my muscles to work like they do in this short 20 minute programme! It's not for anyone who wants to take it easy though..

I have brought my beans to the office today for lunch :rotfl: so i think i shall invest in come heavier tinned vegetable for tonight! Or actual weights if i see them anywhere at a decent price.

I bought my weights from Tesco:) I did kick myself the other week as there was a whole case of hand weights on the carboot sale..knew i should have got them:o. I agree with the workout, it is enough for me doing 20mins, i hate the gym and have worked more in those 20mins than with any gym membership. I do miss swimming though, so may well go to some more classes :)

    Morning!

I nearly bought a set of weights in the charity shop the other day - but didn't because they were £3.50 - and I got home and found out they were the same weight as a tin of kidney beans anyway! So kidney beans it is... :rotfl:

Busy busy here - Mr Daffs' birthday - breakfast in bed and now he's just having a nap. Not sure what today will bring - cheery adventures and lots of tea no doubt! :j :j

    Have a good one all!

Shamelessly steals KC's post and edits it to wish Mr Daff-Cheery a happy birthday

Lol to the weights and the beans instead - good thinking!

Thank you for all your lovely birthday wishes for Mr Daffs! He was most appreciative!! :j We've had a lovely day of tea and cake and picnic and flea market and eating sandwiches and drinking tea from a flask in a car park over looking a dual carriageway like a couple of pensioners :rotfl: Then splashed out and went to see Inception at the cinema :j

Anyway, I'm here to do a bit of a money update, so here goes....

Just totted everything up. My van account now has 77p in it! But I'm due to get the refunds from the tax and insurance, and I've already paid Mr Daffs his half, so that should be £242 coming my way at some point :j Also due some transcribing money at the end of the month - that's the last of it  But out of the van money we've also bought a Haynes manual, a new door key (well, I'm getting it tomorrow), and a tank of diesel, so not too bad.

However, I did rather splash out on birthday treats :o Haven't added up how much I've spent - I knew I was spending the last of the van money, but that's kind of ok. I'm guessing around £60-70 all told for presents, food, cinema, and treats today, so not too bad.

What I did instead of adding it up was went and checked how much was left in the bank for the rest of the month. Got enough for trains to work :rotfl: Plus £10 left for this week (fine, we've plenty of food in) and £23 left for the next three weeks. I get paid on 1st Sept (which is a Wednesday) but budgets run Mon-Sun in this house :rotfl:

So I should be fine as long as no extravagances, and only the necessary food! Watch this space! :rotfl:

(Fees are slowly getting paid off too! :j)

Anyway, what with all the car buying and birthday prep, I've had pretty much a week off the PhD  So that needs to be sorted out. There's a few things in the house that need sorting too - I won't tell you how long my bed sheets haven't been changed for cos you'll be horrified and probably never speak to me again  :o :rotfl: I've also had 4 days off Shred (possibly 5) and have been eating cake like there's no tomorrow!

SO - tomorrow the organisation starts (I"d say 'again', but I don't think it ever started in the first place! :rotfl: Here's the plan (I know, I know about ta da lists not to do lists, but this is just a vague plan!!)

I've got someone coming to pick something up that's n my attic at 9.30. So BEFORE THAT I want to have shredded, showered and breakfasted, and brought thing down from attic. While I'm in the attic I'll do a mini bit of tidying from the birthday-making-extravaganza that was last night :)

THEN I'm going to start PHDing, sitting in the attic. I"m going to finish my section, and get a decent chunk of the rest of the chapter done.

Mr Daffs is out in the evening, so I'm going to have a whizz roudn the house then.

I'm going to cut the rest of the cake into pieces and freeze it so I don't scoff them all too :rotfl: And I'm not going to spend anything at all.

And I'm going to record what I've *actually* done and see how it's different :rotfl:

sounds like a plan Cheery, my OH is working this weekend and apart from a trip to the gym and hopefully a cuppa with a friend i'm aiming to spend my time productively in the home, either gardening, covering sofas or tidying up. Preferably all 3.

Glad you had a nice day yesterday and that Mr Daffs enjoyed the birthday. I think we are dopplegangers. Me and OH often take a flask and picnic out with us. We say it is much more romantic than buying stuff. We find benches to sit on mostly at the prom but from time to time we sit in the car in a lay by or a car park and then we call ourselves Doris and Fred.

Dont know what happened yesteday but I did do posts on several diaries and today they all seem to have disappeared. Yesterday I asked if the Guinea Pigs had survived on the car or did they do a disappearing act?

Guinea pigs survived so far cherisong, but their days are numbered... :rotfl: I'm expecting to come home from work one day and they'll have vanished... Mr Daffs currently out there measuring up for curtains :j :j :j (although I suspect I'm going to have to actually *make* them!)

Doris and Fred :rotfl: Yes, that does sound just like us. We even had a little snooze in the front seats :rotfl: (although if the curtains/bed had been sorted out we would have got in there instead - which feels a little more rock and roll somehow) :rotfl: (or is that just me???)

Sounds like you're in for a prodctive weekend LT! I'm usually productive in my mind - then in reality I land up p*ssing about on the internet, then stuffing in some shreddies instead of cooking, then getting absolutely nothing done at all :rotfl:
