Can you measure your front door? Mr NL says that the UPVu door I got from the charity shop is 783mm x 1965mm with a frame of 890 x 2005 - Is this any good to you or DedicatedDFW???
Alternatively, the internal 6 panel door that is going soon is 760 x 1910.
NL x0 -
Goodness NL! How generous!
I shall indeed measure the door - although we'd planned on a wooden stable door
I'll measure, and am very grateful indeed, but I suspect Mr Daffs won't have a upvc one
And we do need an external one this time - the internal one that's been out there for 20 years is entirely rotten!
But thank you, thank you! :j (I'm not home til late tonight, so it'll be tomorrow before I can do it)
Ooh, Squizz, this is looking serious!:rotfl: Days and times? Not weekdays any more sadly! Not Tuesday evenings, or Saturday mornings (WI, very important :rotfl:) but other than that I'm open to suggestion!
Can come to you, or you to me, or whatever
How exciting, that's all cheered up a rather long and grupm-inducing day! :j :j :j
Tea anyone??0 -
yes please Cheery, earl grey if you have any, if not I think I need a chamomile. What a day of ups and downs. Getting there. Sounds like you are in for a treat with Squizz and the flute. Is it a harp that you play Squizz?
How generous of NL. I would understand Mr C not wanting UPVC I long for a wooden stable door. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
OK probably a weekday evening then.. next couple of weeks are a bit horrible (work are sending me up and down the country to boring meetings waaah) but I'll have a look and see what we can do
Cheri, I play the flute too so there will be multiple tootling going on
Tea.. trying to cut down on caffeine so a nice herbal one pleaseDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
I thought it was the flute and then I convinced myself the harp. I think somebody just joined in MG thread who plays the harp and I am getting all confused. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sqizz - I am a real Tea Bag and don't drink smelly coffee at all but was forced down the de-caf route a while ago as I had constant UTI's (sorry for TMI
) and we had tried everything else to get rid of them. I tried every de-caf on the market and can tell you that having drunk PG for years Typhoo de-caf is the most like real Tea.
Cheery - I think an internet free day (other than work) is going to have be written in to my week too as I spend far to much time on here. I was away for the weekend in a remote cottage in Devon and thought I would be bored rigid without internet access but I picked up a book for the first time in yonks and remembered quite how much I enjoy reading.:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -
It really is quite a revelation Maty!
Enjoy your trips up and down the country Squizz!Whenever you're free is good. I'll come back from my weekend all revved up and raring to go
loooooooong day, only got in about 10.15 and that was after leaving at 6.20 this morning  A day of ups and downs indeed, but overall good
Best go and do something useful now though (like sleep). Working at home tomorrow, with a visit to cheery office mate's house, so all good
Back tomorrow... xx

Busy busy busy today!
Working at home, but spending the afternoon at the house of lovely office mate, who lives in the same city, but on the other side of it. 10 minutes in the car - but Mr Daffs last night informed me he's taking the car somewhere else, so I'm currently choosing between an hour of much needed cycling exercise (and getting a lift most of the way back), or a bus trip, with some actual stopping-and-thinking time... we'll see.
Friend is coming tonight to help lift paving slabs (well, I say 'help', he will actually be doing it while I watch). So that involves me spending an hour doing the last of the digging, and also popping to the shops to get something to make us food with. Oh, and doing the washing up that's been left there since Tuesday night...
I'm away at the weekend, so that involves doing some washing (already in the machine), taking the seat out of the car, and putting the bed in. Bleurgh. Can't do that til tomorrow though anyway.
Oh, and I am, of course, working from home today, so best get my backside into gear! Got a bit of financial jiggery pokery to play around with too, perhaps later, need to get a couple of things done for work at least first.0 -
Thanks for the tip Maty! I managed to keep it to two cups of normal tea and two cups of green tea yesterday, so cutting down slowly.
Cheery - Some of the trips will be nice (York, lovely) and some less so (Swindon - 7 hours on a train for a 5 hour meeting). That was a seriously long day you had yesterday, but you still sound cheery
Hope today is good, your garden work seems to be going well (never re-pointed a wall have you? that's our next task in the garden ).

Wave at me when you're in York Squizz!
Might even see you on the train one day! (I'm going tues/wed next week)
Hmm - not so excited about 7 hour train trip (or 5 hour meeting!)
Never repointed a wall - not even sure I know what it means!:rotfl: Don't envy you that one! I've got to build a little tiny wall after this is done - but it'll be literally 4 bricks by 5 bricks or something so not too bad. Let us know how you get on...
Couldn't resist messing about with the bankTo patchwork fund have added:
£12 - this week's spare train fare
£13.40 expenses
£5 that friend gave me because she dragged me away from the Oyster top up machine before I could get a receipt so I couldn't claim it back from work :rotfl: Daft woman
So - Patchwork fund now stands at £258, and overall savings are up to 24.97%! :j :j :j :j (I suppose we could count that as 25% couldn't we)
