    Now then, here we are at gone 11am and I'm not even dressed yet! Shocking :D

    I have, however, been industriously pondering the infinite. Or at least, pondering the next few days. I want to do something from each of the sections of my goals list, and have been looking at April's list to see what I haven't done yet :D Here's a sketchy, open-to-change plan for the weekend... (there's other stuff too, but this is just from the goals list)

    HOME
    * enlist Mr Daffs' help in finding us a new front door!
    * ring builder fella about quote for plastering the ceiling

    GARDEN
    * ring friend to come round to help me list pavings
    * dig drill out of cellar and take up rest of concrete
    * build wall

    HEALTH
    * run, at least twice
    * bike ride

    MONEY
    * dig out mortgage and insurance paperwork and see if we can change things
    * investigate changing title at bank :D

    FOR ME
    * investigate trapeze and get date in diary <wibble>

    FOR US
    * decide on place to go for No Quibble Weekend later in May

    FOR EVERYONE
    * set up charity direct debit

    So, there we have it, a life affirming plan for the weekend :j :j

    (also includes things like tidying up, doing some more work, posting presents, but we won't worry too much about those things and will just squeeze them in as time allows :D)

    Ooh, and I also want to start a new diary - need ideas for names! Any suggestions?? Something to do with tea parties? Picnics? Dancing?? Patchwork living?? (although feel a bit of a fraud as I'm not actually doing that right now - but working towards it!)? Cakes? :D

    Hi Cheery

    Just sent you a PM about self-portraits - bit of a rushed message as I have to turn comp off just now.

    Looking forward to your new diary.

    :D

    Well, after all that, it's not turning out to be the most productive day! :rotfl: Set out for a run, got 2 mins up the road when friend rang and said she was round the corner and could she pop in for a cuppa :D So obviously I abandoned run and came home :D

    Not even had lunch yet, no run, no nothing! Pah! Must pull socks up!

    Gosh, I *very* nearly sunk into a gloomy despondency there for a while! :eek: That won't do at all :eek:

    I think I just looked around and everywhere were piles of *things* that needed to be somewhere else, and it all felt a bit much, and I didn't want to start anything new while everywhere was a mess, and it was all a bit overwhelming :o

    Still - all cured now, thanks to the Flylady weekly home blessing hour podcast :D I don't by any means stick to the flylady thing! But I do like it :D And I have the 2 podcasts on my mp3 player, and sometimes they are exactly what I need - someone else talking in my ear for a set amount of time, jollying me along to do the housework :D :rotfl:

    So, in the last hour I've washed the dishes (gosh there were lots :o), hoovered the whole house (including a bit pile of sawdust from UNDER the sofa cushions... :mad: :rotfl:), changed the sheets and put a load of washing on, put the last lot of washing away, cleaned all the mirrors (!), dusted downstairs and a bit of upstairs, and wiped the kitchen floor, and emptied all the bins :D

    Now I'm feeling a bit peckish and in need of a treat and some fresh air, and we've no bread, cereal, fruit, or anything remotely snack-on-able (oh dear, very poor MSE practice!) so I'm going to trot out to the shops and see what I can acquire :D

    Then I'll start doing something else cheery :j

    Hello Cheery! Those podcasts sound good, I remember you mentioning them before. If I knew how to load up the mp3 player I might cart them around with me from room to room too .... dusting (and vacuuming, come to that) are definitely not my strong points...... hope you found something else cheery to do, and weren't claimed by the Slough of Despond again ...

    Before I had an MP3 player I used to play them on the laptop and cart that round from room to room :D

    I did indeed find cheery things to do :j :j I ambled to the shops, and stocked up on tasty things. Then I made a cuppa, and sat down with my knitting and watched 2 episodes of Alys Flowers that I taped last year :D Very jolly and inspiring for me to get out in my own garden!

    Then Mr Daffs came back and made a risotto, and I watched the second episode of Emma and did some more knitting.

    Quite tv heavy! :o but it's cold and blustery outside, and I was being inspired AND knitting at the same time, and it was stuff I'd consciously chosen to watch rather than background drivel, so not too bad really :D

    Not made much progress on The List though :o Did speak to friend about moving slabs - he's coming one evening next week :T (best dig the concrete out then!). Looked and looked for the giant drill we borrowed from a friend and can't find it - how difficult can it be??

    Oh, and investigated trapeze lessons - there's an all day beginners workshop running on both June 11th and July 16th - at a grand cost of £35... I'm provisionally busy in June, but at the moment don't have a decent excuse ready for the July one... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Not sure what this evening will bring. Eaten too much risotto to go for a run, so that'll have to wait til tomorrow now :D Mr Daffs wants a bath, so that gives me a good hour to myself - might watch another episode of Emma and do some more knitting :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

    You need to recharge the batteries sometimes, Cheery, sounds good to me. Except I don't like Emma :) its the only one of Jane's books I don't like ... but I bet the production is as beautiful as anything.

    Phew, that was a long day!

    Not that I did anything particularly energetic, mind you :D A trip to the WI, the charity shops. I bought:

    * a double cotton sheet for £2 (which I'll use to make other things)
    * a small vacuum flask, just right for one cup of tea on the train for £1.99 :D
    * a pair of fabulously turquoise tights for 99p
    * a pair of black ribbed hold up stockings with little bows on for 99p :D

    A good haul I thought! :T :T

    Spent the afternoon with a friend walking her dog along a little river and over some scrub land that I think used to be coal tip or something. Good views out over the hills at any rate. Then went to another friend's to borrow a pick axe and had more tea :D

    Home now, done a bit of whacking concrete, but not much else useful. Might pop out to get some Pastures (knock off Baileys :rotfl:) :D

    Several things I've been putting off (did we decide to call them Pesky Dragons?? :rotfl:) that I MUST do tomorrow:

    * wrap friend's son's present
    * make friend's present and wrap ready to post
    * 4 hours of work

    Also want to make some bread, get the blithering concrete up, make myself a top (or at least have a go), go for a run, and our lovely neighbours are opening a mod/1960s/northern soul/scooter cafe and the grand opening is tomorrow, so best get over there for that! :T :T :D

    Best not drink too much then...
