Gosh I am *loving* this long weekend! :T :T :T

Just slobbed out on Friday, spent yesterday drinking tea with friends, and today we went to the opening of the new cafe (SO many gorgeous scooters! Aarrgghh, much jealousy!), but it was so busy we sneaked off down the road to another fabulous cafe and had tea there instead :D

Been banging away at the concrete again, aching like an aching thing, but I'm starting to get near the end now! :j :j Did some work this morning, and off to do some more now - not overtime, but I've worked so few days in the last couple of weeks, and there was something we wanted to get finished off, so I'm only taking one of Friday/Monday as holiday, and technically 'working' the other one - although I've spread the hours out over yesterday and today.

Then dressing up this evening to go be Groupie Girlfriend to Mr Daffs, who is being a Rock Star in honour of the anniversary of the first man in space :D What fun!

Sounds like a thoroughly enjoyable day :)

    Right then.

Just popping in to say goodnight...

I've declared tomorrow an Internet Free Day <wibble>

Taking over TOO much of life at the minute, and I want my last day off to be full of making and baking and running and cycling and *doing*.

So, much as I love you all, I'm having a day in the Real World... scary stuff

See you on the other side.... :D

I can't tell that from your diary, Cheery, but you need the balance to be right for you - enjoy your day-off-internet-time.

I'm back now :D (and sneaking in at work lunchtime :D)

Had a lovely day actually - and made me realise how much I needed it. Not a crisis, but the laptop lives under the kitchen table, and messing about on it had become a default activity, when the kettle was boiling, while I was waiting for something etc - and then a quick check would turn into half an hour, and I'd have to force myself to get off and do something else, and it was all a bit much.

I got lots done tomorrow - Yes I kept sitting down and occasionally having a read of a book, but it wasn't a hardship to get up and crack on again.

I missed the companionship :D and seeing what you're all up to :D but actually, we talked more at home when one or the other of us wasn't staring at the screen...

so possibly more of a regular thing... we'll see. I'll certainly be a little more mindful in the future.

Speaking of which, must crack on with some work, busy busy! :T :T

(was meant to not be getting home til 10pm tonight, but instead I'm going home at normal time :j :j so quite pleased, although it does mean a late night tomorrow...)

Hiya Cheery! I think a regular internet free day is a good idea.. very easy to get sucked into 'just popping on' then looking at all sorts of stuff out of habit.

Think I passed the scootery cafe yesterday.. if it's the same one, it looks fab!

Have you done any tootling lately? I got a stash of sheet music from my mum's but yet to look at it :o

Oh I *definitely* agree with that, I see what you mean. I can't tell you how much I've managed to get done by just doing the odd ten minutes here and there. If I'd just popped on to the net for all those ten minuteses, my house would be quite different. So would my draft website, come to that!

Well, definitely not an internet free day today, but I didn't get home from work til gone 8pm, and then had a cuppa with Mr dafs and a friend, so not too bad! Blithering worn out ,and got to go back to York again at 7 tomorrow morning <yawn>

Question is, can I be bothered to have a shower and wash hair now, or would I rather get up in the morning and do it... (answer, of course, is that I will appreciate it more if I put in the effort now! Pah).

Squizz, not done much tooting :o but have booked myself onto a scandinavian music festival in North Yorks at the weekend - as a musician :D Very brave indeed :D <wibble> Going to spend all day Saturday and Sunday in workshops for people new to scandinavian traditional music - eek! :D You still up for a toot at some point??

And you're right KC, all those 10 minutes do add up! And the evenings too - tonight I couldn't have done much else, I'm so worn out, but still, I've spent the past half hour roaming around the internet doing nothing-in-particular - could have had a shower and be in bed with a book by now! :D

    Lesson learned (for now)...

Best go and stick my head under the tap I suppose... <yawn>

You *do* sound tired. Don't expect perfection of yourself with the "use every ten minutes" thing tho, thats pretty wearing in itself. If you get in after a really long day, of course you want to sit down for a bit rather than jump straight into the shower and into bed...

The music festival sounds amazing, btw!
