I ain't started it yet Redmadcurls! I might give up at the first hurdle... :rotfl:
Done a tiny bit of PHD, enough to get me started on the right track on Wednesday. But still a bit of a pathetic attempt
Mr daffs is teaching in the kitchen now, so I'm relegated to the attic (which is my cheery sewing room). realised I haven't actually done any transcribing for over a fortnight  no strict deadline as such, but I'd like it done quite quickly ,and there's at least another 8 hours or so to go. I've got 45 mins, so I'll set the timer, and do 30 mins transcribing, and 15 mins making a start on clearing a space in the attic and sorting all the material and sewing stuff and books etc cluttering up the floor...

Hello Cheery!
Long time lurker here - thought I should creep out of the woodwork as I have just been sent this voucher to get up to 43% off train tickets - and I thought it might be useful for you... I hope so anyway.

While I’m here - I just want to say that I really enjoy reading your diary - and although I’m quiet I’m an avid reader
Off I trot before I get too comfy.

Glad to see you're putting your best stripey sock forward - we all do the splurgey thing
Kids are away and I seem to be buying/spending on food/books etc - telling myself, one bit won't hurt as I'm not doing my 'normal spending'
Silicone heart thingmies are indeed yours - I'll get them in the post -
Um, don't think I'm brave/energetic enough to do shred
Unless its with the machine in the garden :rotfl:
Speaking of which I'm off out for a bit to plant those shrubs as I didn't get around to it at the weekend.
I've also got some mustard yellow (patons purple heather fingering 4ply) wool up for grabs - about 5 25g balls? Any interest?
Hanb (hello) what a lovely thing to offer.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Hanb, how lovely to meet you! Don't go lurking in the shadows there, it's scary!
Thanks ever so much for that voucher, it'll come in very handy! Just trying to decide whether I should use it for a work trip, or save it til I'm going somewhere exciting (and more expensive!)
I'm always interested in wool Fay!! But don't let me steal all of your goodies, let someone else have it if they want it! And do you want any of this giant fleece??
Hope you got your shrubs out!
Long and busy day in work for me today <yawn> but very cheery, and I had a supervision with boss, I've been there for almost 2 months now! and she said "i haven't got much to say, we're very happy with you and everyone thinks you're lovely":j So I'm rather chuffed :A:rotfl:
(silly shred dvd is winging its way towards me in a menacing fashion as we speak...)
And I got paid from my transcribing work today - £33.90! For some reason I was expecting a few quid more than that!
On the van front... Ebay non-payer dispute thing finished, and we put it on a local forum yesterday for £175. Had 5 messages about it when I woke up this morning! Some offering less (including one bloke who wants to use it for banger racing!:eek::eek:). One bloke is offering full price, but wanted me to save it til tomorrow. I have done, but now he's not been in touch either! Pah! Someone else just rang and said he can pick it up in 10 minutes! So if I haven't heard from the other bloke by lunchtime tomorrow, the second one it'll be...
To be honest, although it's sad and everything, I'll be pretty glad to have all this over and done with! I don't do dodgy van-selling wheeler dealing very well! :rotfl:
I'm in for an early night tonight I think, I'm exhausted! Found a new route to cycle to work - much prettier, down the side of the river and through the fields, but it somehow seemed uphill in both directions! :rotfl: And a bit longer than the usual one (but hardly any traffic). So couple that with being up since before 6am, plus a busy day, (plus eating lots of cr*p - shhh), and I'm worn out. Lots to do tomorrow as well........
(including rescuing that basil - which now needs rescuing from me since I haven't watered it and it's all dried up!) :rotfl:0 -
Hi, just popped in as directed by sparklymessygirl on my diary today. She says you like quotes especially regarding tea so I thought I would share this one. sorry if it is already posted but I thought I would read the last page first and then read the rest to catch up.
"Women are like tea bags. They do not know how strong they are until they get into hot water."
- Eleanor Roosevelt
Now subscribed. catch you up soon as I am heading into the other pages now. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
Love the quote, cherisong!
Daffs, come on, post up your list of what you need to do, you can use the "strike" button after you Go Advanced!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
LOVE that quote - I work with 4 blokes and they drink a lot of tea so I will print if off for them just so they remember we are the better sex!!

Thanks cherisong, I love that quote too! How very true... (why don't they have one of those with tea cups???) :tea: :rotfl:
I did think about putting up a list KC, and crossing it off, but I remembered that I post lists alarmingly often that don't get anything crossed off them! :rotfl: So instead I decided I'd post as list of things I've already done, and then I'll get all excited about doing lots of things and putting them on the TaDa list (a term which I blatantly stole from somewhere else, although I can't remember where, but I like it).
(of course, there is always the possibility that I won't actually do the things I *need* to do because they won't be on a list so I won't remember them, but we'll deal with that later... :rotfl: maybe I need a secret list that I can't see? :rotfl:)
So here goes - my TA DA list
* cleaned bathroom :j
* got dressed and had breakfast :j (every little helps, right??) :rotfl:
* put clothes away from top of washing basket
* emailed silly van man saying if he doesn't get in touch soon it's going to someone else
Er, that's it. Best crack on, lots to do (although I'm not entirely sure what! :rotfl:)0 -
Love the list thoughts. And you're right, every little helps :rotfl:2023: the year I get to buy a car0
