There's me having had a rotten grumpy old day, Mr Daffs put the water on to have a bath himself, then rather fabulously decided I was in more need
So just had a lovely long soak, a nice read, and now I'm sat here with my hair all wrapped up, and got an email from Amazon to say a CD just sold for £8.50! :j:j:rotfl::j:j Hooray! What a lovely surprise
Must remember to post it in the morning! So another big thanks to Fay for making me put them all on there in the first place - a good few weeks ago now!
Now I'll go to bed happy :rotfl:
I think thats good bath karma
Well done on the sale - I must remember to get my amazon stuff off of 'holiday' mode
GRRR to the van man waster person - you any thoughts about contacting some folks who offered you money whilst it was still listed?
Whats the plan for today - wet and windy here sadly!Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:

Well the cunning tatco trolley plan didn't work as they've got sneaky hidden sensors that when you roll over, disable the trollley and then a loud speaker tells you off
In the end me and my friend moved my stuff using two large suitcases (with wheels) and a luggage trolley for the boxes.
We did about 10 runs and got quite a bit over.
My parents are coming up tomorrow with a van full of my stuff from the loft and so we can use that to move my final bits including the big stuff which we couldn't manage.
So off soon to spend first night in new shiny flat! :j
Makeup this is brilliant!
I hope you have a lovely time in your new house - xxxxxTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Not yet, wallowing in the mires of rewriting PhD Chapter 2 (which WILL be finished today!), and hormonal slightly grumpiness and stomach ache
So no jam yet - but there will be!!!

Phew, that was a long day! I've done *so* much PhD this week, just *so much, I'm so pleased with myself! :j Just need to pull that off again for the next few months and I'm done! Shame I didn't finish, but I refuse to beat myself up, and need a break before starting back at work tomorrow
So here we are, in for an evening of catching up on things I've been putting off all week :j So that means:
* planting out radishes
* taking some photos in the garden
* writing on my little blog, making some liquid soap (already bubbling away on the cooker)
* topping and tailing an enormous pile of gooseberries and making jam :j
* sorting through the bag of tayberries (that I accidentally stepped on!!) and trying to pick out leaves and sticks so I can make more jam :j
*sorting out blackcurrants to, er, yep, you guessed it, make *more* jam :rotfl:
* finding clothes and making lunch for work tomorrow
* sorting out PhD stuff to take on the train to work tomorrow
* reading through diary to update myself on my July goals because we're getting scarily close to the end and I do so love it when I achieve my little cheery goals :j:j (but it doesn't seem to happen without me doing anything, strangely enough...)
* checking bank account as earlier there only seemed to be £49 in there, and I need at least £40 plus £40 of train fares to see the month out! Something's gone wrong somewhere in my cunning plan
Right, I'll be back when I've crossed a few things off the list! :A0 -
Well done on the phd stuff
Remember if you've room you can freeze some fruit and make it into jam later and if you don't manage to sort though things, sticks and leaves will float in water and you can pick them off htat way or when frozen
Soap sounds fun - I'm still using mine so thank you
Maybe the money you're looking for hasnt' arrived yet, or its in a sneaky pot?
Goodluck with getting organised, the most I've done for tomorrow right now is boil some eggs and get the washing in!!Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Good idea on the freezing fruit! :j Mr Daffs has rather helpfully sorted it into large bowls while I've been at work today, which makes it more manageable, but it still needs the stalks and leaves and whatever sorting out (thanks for the floating tip!), and 4 different types of jam making.
I've also got a PhD chapter to finish yesterday, some transcribing work that needs to be done ASAP, washing that needs to be washed, the house is a little bit of a tip (but I'm ignoring that), the garden is a bigger tip (ignoring that too), and everything's all a bit much!
(hmm, hormones *and* stupid thyroid combining to make everything seem overwhelming, I think!)
AND I can't figure out what's happened to the extra £30 or so that should be in my bank, after all my careful planning!Maybe I just added up wrong, but I have all my workings out, and I can't figure it out at all...
Looks like I'll just have to manage without!
Anyway, I'm writing this in an effort to NOT spend the entire evening panicking and not getting anything at all done :rotfl: So I'll write a list, then sort it into priorities, if you'll indulge me... :rotfl:0 -
Ok list's written, some things taken off, and I've tried to group things according to what can be done together, what needs to be done *today*, and chucked off some things that can wait til tomorrow...
1. [STRIKE]plan PhD chapter work for next couple of days[/STRIKE] :j
2. [STRIKE]get PhD stuff ready to take on the train[/STRIKE] :j
3. [STRIKE]copy transcribing CD onto computer[/STRIKE]
4. [STRIKE]write timesheet, and put in envelope with CD[/STRIKE] :j
5. [STRIKE]make lunch for work tomorrow[/STRIKE] :j
6. [STRIKE]sort clothes for work tomorrow[/STRIKE] :j
7. [STRIKE]put home made soap into bottles[/STRIKE] :j
8. lop stick-y bits off gooseberries
9. take stalks off blackberries
10. sort through tayberry mush (accidentally stood on bag...I guess that means it's nearly jam already, right?? :rotfl:)
11. text friend re booze club
12. write booze club cheque and put in envelope
13. check bank account AGAIN
14. order knitting needles to finish my cardi (v. important! :rotfl:)
15. check bank account AGAIN
And I've got no more than 2 hours before i want to go to bed cos I have to be on the train at 7.12am
What's me chances??
( more if I get off the darn computer! :rotfl:)
Edited later: 7 out of 15 ain't bad! Especally when it's actually out of 14 cos two of them are the same... :rotfl:0 -
Well done on the list
xxx
I'm off to bed, I hope you are as well xTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

So then - where is makeup?? Still asleep in the new flat?? Hope so! :rotfl:
I'm feeling proper sorry for myself today. Shall I list my woes?? Oh go on, indulge me for a minute
1. VERY sore throat
2. hormonal grumpiness
3. stomach ache (see 2)
4. general thyroid related crap feeling
5. PhD chapter to finish
Er, that's it, it feels like a lot more! :rotfl: thyroid making everything feel horrid, hormones making everything feel worse, and PhD just adding insult to injurySomehow I feel that, even though I really do physically feel rubbish, without the chapter to finish I'd be able to bimble along just fine... :rotfl:
So - I'm taking precautionary measures. I've cancelled the gardening I was meant to do this evening for someone on the LETS scheme - 45 mins walk each way and 2 hours digging is NOT what I need today!
I tidied the kitchen a bit so Iwouldn't feel so overwhelmed this morning :T
Mr daffs has gone to a mate's leaving me in peace for a few hours - and made pancake mix before he went :j
So... the plan is - an hour of PhD, then stop for pancakes (and have at least ONE that isn't only sugar and lemon! :rotfl:) Then 3 more hours of PhD, and then send chapter whatever state it's in cos I just can't afford to devote any more time to it.
Then a nice chilled out evening of slow gentle pottering, picking courgettes and nice things from the garden for tea :j, maybe a bit of light weeding, a small bit of pottering in the sewing room, a nice bath, maybe a cheery film (or an edible garden!), and an early night. After all, I want to be on top form for our work's day trip out tomorrrow! :rotfl:
Back at pancake time to report on progress...0
