I think it's a genius idea too makeup!! Brilliant! (although watch it with the stealing device thing - perhaps they'd disable it if you asked them and offered a deposit????) I think I said yesterday, I did it in a wheelbarrow, took the best part of a day, and I was exhausted, but easily doable! (and you think very carefully about what goes in the wheelbarrow - I got rid of an alarming amount of 'essential' stuff, lol!)

Very pleased for you though, you must let us know how you go! Surely you could do it in a car if not a wheelbarrow?? Perhaps your mates could stop laughing and instead form a human chain??!! :):)

Good luck makeup! I think its brilliant too - I only wish I could do it, for my moving date next month - sadly, its between towns, and I have a 3 bed house already, so probably not :rotfl:

Wasn't there a man who walked around Scotland pushing a pram full of stuff once?? It would be very MSE-style KC! (If a little extreme!!) :)

There probably was! Makes me think of a mad couple I met on the Greek-Turkish border. They'd walked from Spain with a trolley of stuff, and they were walking to Jerusalem on pilgrimage. Even tougher than it sounds, as the fighting in the first Gulf War was about to start

Bleurgh. Grump grump grump today! Just can't get settled, all grumpy and out of sorts. :o Done some PhD, not as much as the rest of the week though, and certainly not enough :(

Haven't spent anything though! Oh, except 50p on the scales in boots - I've put on 3lbs but grown an inch in height in the last month! :rotfl:

Just made scary phone call to scary ebay van man :j Unfortunately, as expected, he didn't answer the phone

I left a lovely cheery message saying he'd bought our van, hadn't heard from him about collection, could do with knowing before 10pm if he was going to collect it etc :p

Obviously, if I haven't heard by 10pm (and I suspect I won't have), I shall be reporting him through the non-paying buyers thing

Rather annoyed though - the MOT runs out tomorrow, so now anybody we sell it to won't be able to drive it away...

Oh well, you live and learn - and perhaps we shouldn't have been so scathing of all those ads that said 'NO TIMEWASTERS', 'YOU ARE BIDDING TO BUY NOT TO VIEW', 'DEPOSIT IMMEDIATELY ON END OF AUCTION' etc :rotfl:

(and perhaps I should have practiced on ebay a few more times selling CDs rather than vehicles... :rotfl:)

Well the cunning tatco trolley plan didn't work as they've got sneaky hidden sensors that when you roll over, disable the trollley and then a loud speaker tells you off

In the end me and my friend moved my stuff using two large suitcases (with wheels) and a luggage trolley for the boxes.

We did about 10 runs and got quite a bit over.

My parents are coming up tomorrow with a van full of my stuff from the loft and so we can use that to move my final bits including the big stuff which we couldn't manage.

So off soon to spend first night in new shiny flat! :j
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)

    Hooray! :j:j

There's me having had a rotten grumpy old day, Mr Daffs put the water on to have a bath himself, then rather fabulously decided I was in more need :D

So just had a lovely long soak, a nice read, and now I'm sat here with my hair all wrapped up, and got an email from Amazon to say a CD just sold for £8.50! :j:j:rotfl::j:j Hooray! What a lovely surprise

Must remember to post it in the morning! So another big thanks to Fay for making me put them all on there in the first place - a good few weeks ago now!

Now I'll go to bed happy :rotfl:
