I know what you mean Happy! :rotfl:

Just had a lovely little walk in the sunshine, and a lovely catch up with a friend I don't see so often :T She handed in her PhD yesterday, so is all happy and smiley! :) (and I was just a little jealous - pah! :rotfl:) And she's invited me to a (free! with free drinks!) swing night on Saturday :D So in the spirit of saying 'yes' - I said 'yes', of course! :j

Still got to decide on whether I go to Manchester tomorrow night or not. I'd like to see the people, but I'm really not sure I want to spend that money on a Friday night in Manchester... I said I could go over on Saturday in the day time, but people are going home then. So got to decide today really. Still not sure what to do... :(

Anyway, cuppa I think, then some PhDing :D
  • Go and see these friends and have fun and then its done :)

I have a habit of doing this. I want to see people/do things but find an excuse why I cant. As you have witnessed with the Moo and Proms episode. I have come to realise that it is because I dont want to leave my little comfort zone. When I exhausted all excuses and "had" to go to the proms I had a great time. So I have set a new rule. If I first think "I want to" then I have to make it happen and overcome all of my barriers so to speak.
Try asking yourself do you really want to see them and so just making excuses because it seems too much like hard work/too difficult to face or are the reasons not to go really you giving yourself the permission to not want to see them.

Well, er, now you mention it, I did, er, once, er, have a bit of a (completely unfounded!) reputation for that type of malarkey :D

    :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

But this lot are of the no-sex-before-marriage persuasion, so I think this will just be for the music! :rotfl:

You are all right, of course, I really DO want to see the friends, I just like to have a tight control on my budget, and I also don't really do drinking a lot. :o But I DID go and budget for it! :rotfl: And they've booked in for a curry, and I don't have a free automatic place to stay, so it's perfectly reasonable of me to turn up, go for the curry and a little drink, then get the train home again. I think I might just do that :D

Not just my mucky mind then?:rotfl:

Good plan on the night out cheery and thank you for joining in with the numero uno why-dont-we-friday :)

Ok going to say yes to night out :j I generally do quite well at the old living thing :D I just generally don't do very well with spending at least £20 on one night out  with lots of people who earn the same wage as me theoretically but work full time when I do less than half time - and are occasionally inclined to forget that means I earn less than half the amount they do... So don't like getting into extended drinking sessions/nightclubs/nonsense :D But am going to get there at 7, get the train back at 10.24, and be back home before midnight having had a lovely curry, a few hours, and a nice catch up :T

Best trot and tidy up, someone's arriving in 5 mins!

I am sure that you will enjoy it. That sounds like a great compromise. When I don't want to spend too much money I drive and ask to be excused from the rounds for that reason. Most people know what I am up to but they pretend they don't.
