Hi everyone. Some more info on elite savings I found earlier is that the address they are registered at is the same address used for over 30 other websites selling stuff, who are no doubt dodgy. Also for anyone after a cheap HTC desire you can get one from an O2 store for £309. I think the best course of action for anyone still after a refund is to contact the police and report these con artists.

I ordered an HTC desire on Aug 12th, and after having read this thread realized that I have been scammed. The problem is that I bought it using an Egyptian credit card, since I live in Egypt, and had it sent to an address of a friend in the UK. So I don't have moneybookers to help get me my money back, but my credit card is HSBC - anyone know of a way to get my money back!!??

    Please help.

I rang there call centre spoke to some guy who spoke at the speed of light .told me they would contact elitesavings to check I had not recived my order and get back to me by E-mail.that was on the Friday then got 2 e-mails Sunday saying it would take 21 days .then got another on Monday saying it would be payed back to my credit card in 7 days checked my bank on line later that day to find full refund !
  • There call centre numbere is +44 870383 0232 that is the number I called bookers on and it worked for me E-mails tend to be ignored if u have payed by credit card you should have no trouble getting a refund
  • I thought about using Elite Savings but because only dumbo would use them over branded companies I decided against.
    Thanks,
  • I ordered a HTC Desire from elite savings on the 4th july and was originally led to believe it would take 15 days (then becomes 15 working days, an extra week.) for delivery but as so many of you have found out some or the whole of it was a big fat scam, the elite savings page says there is a virus now, but previously it stated that it was shut due to a hacker breaking in and planting a bogus paypal way of paying. The logistics firm has their "Account Suspended" by their web server. The upshot is like so many of you i rang money bookers and talked to the fast talking guy and my money was back in my account within 4 days. I am getting the phone on saturday with another website(htc approved !!)paying just over £110 more but i know at least im going to get it after over 2 1/2 months waiting.

    Thanks,

Very helpful indeed. Award yourself a potato up your a.

To everyone else who suggested calling moneybookers... thanks. I have done this and I remain hopeful that I will refunded. Thanks again.
  • Ok, so moneybookers told me to sling my hook, cos I used a debit card and the "elitesavings" pool of money is empty.

In better news, I called my bank back. They have now agreed to sort a refund for me.

So... in conclusion, 'elitesavings' are con artists and moneybookers are a !!!!! transaction company that I will never use again.
