Like you Basti_K, I did a bit of internet digging by running a whois query on 'elitesavings.co.uk' and found mention of an address in Finchley, North London for the domain registration.

I hope everybody gets their money back.

I've got a lot more information on this idiot, but I think he es following (and sometimes posting on) this thread so I wont tell him what I know.
Some information are not asured to be in realation with elite savings, but mot are, I don't want to publish information on uninvolved people.

I'm currently preparing a complaint to local police and I think I reached the point where authorative help is needed to track him down.

Please everybody, check all mails you got from elite savings and have a look at the mailheaders, especially "received". Most of his mails he send directly out of some serverbased software (shopsystem, e.g.) but sometimes he sends mail directly from his computer or iPad or whatever cool device we all wanted to get.

Watch out for dynamic IP adresses in the headers and run a reverse lookup on them. The ISPs must betray their costumers to police or public prosecution department.

Lets go hunting fellow victims of this fool.

    Regards Basti

    Dear Bodgit :D,

Thank you for your recent contact regarding non delivery of an item purchased from elitesavings.co.uk.

After careful consideration of your request, we are sorry to confirm that we will be unable to further assist you in this case. According to our Terms and Conditions that you have accepted while initiating the transaction:

“9.4. ....Once funds are credited to the recipient’s Account, the transaction becomes irreversible.”

"16.8. Moneybookers’ obligation under these Terms of Use is limited to providing you with an electronic money account and related payment services and does not make any statement in relation to or endorsement of the quality, safety or legality of any goods or services provided by a Moneybookers customer."

In this sense, Moneybookers is a payment provider and as such, it has been our responsibility to issue an amount of e-money you have deposited via your preferred option and process the payment to the exact recipient that you have selected which has been done immediately upon your personal authorization.

Please be kindly informed that in case you decide to undertake an official legal proceeding against the respective company, Moneybookers will be able to provide all relative details to the respective authorities so that we can support their investigation.

We realize that our answer will disappoint you and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused to you; however, we trust we have clarified our position.

    Kind regards,
    Your Moneybookers Team

I ordered a Bose Wave System from elite savings in July, and have tried to get a refund through moneybookers.

However, this morning I got this reply.

    Thank you for contacting Moneybookers.

Further to your non delivery claim, we would like to inform you that the funds have already left our system therefore we cannot claim a refund for this transaction. Please be kindly reminded that Moneybookers is an online payment provider and our responsibilities are limited to processing online payments according to the instructions you provide us with. Thus we cannot be held liable for the delivery of the service/goods you have purchased through our system.

Our Terms and Conditions, that you have accepted when making the payment with Moneybookers, clearly state the following:

9.4. “Once funds are credited to the recipient’s Account, the transaction becomes irreversible.”

16.8. “Moneybookers’ obligation under these Terms of Use is limited to providing you with an electronic money account and related payment services and does not make any statement in relation to or endorsement of the quality, safety or legality of any goods or services provided by a Moneybookers customer.”

We realize that our answer will disappoint you; however, we trust we have clarified our position.

We would like to assure you that we have taken the appropriate actions to investigate this case further and in case you decide to undertake an official legal proceeding against the respective company, Moneybookers will be able to provide all relative details to the respective authorities so that we can support their investigation.

Please contact your bank to object the payment and they should be able to assist you further.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to get in touch with us at any time or in any way convenient for you.

    Kind Regards,
    Maria

Any ideas on where to proceed from here? Why are some people getting their money back and not others?
  • I've just spoken to Moneybookers and been told they've investigated the case and can't help in any way.

I don't get it! I actually emailed elite savings and they got back to me very quickly and said that if Moneybookers contacted them about the order they wouldn't stand in the way of a full refund.

I guess my next port of call is my bank.

I already did that. They told me to contact moneybookers. They also said that moneybookers was nowhere near as good at doing refunds as some of the other online payment systems such as paypal. No doubt the reason 'elitesavings' used them. No doubt at all that it is the reason I will never use them again.
  • Got all my money back too from Moneybookers Woo Hoo....won't be making payments like that again or using Amazon who basically wiped their hands of the issue even though i was taken from their site in the first place
  • Hi guys got E- mail from bookers telling me my money would be refunded in the nex 7 days ! Checked my online statement and it was back I my account . Nice one bookers thanks . And hope everyone else gets there refund
