  • I posted here a few weeks back -

I purchased an item from this site at the beginning of August.

I was not happy about delivery times and so I asked for a refund... half a dozen emails later they agreed to refund. I'd pointed out that under the distance selling reg's, they'd broken their contract and that I was entitled to a FULL refund.

However, I got the refund day before yesterday and they'd taken 20% = £70!!! I have contacted my bank who say it can take up to 3 months to recover (if it is recoverable!). Elitesaving's site is offline as is the logistic's co. site!! I plan to complain to watchdog, moneybookers, trading standards and will also complain to the OFT where possible.

Good luck to everyone else, I hope that you get a refund!

ps if you paid by credit card, you'd probably get an automatic refund from your card provider - this is what my bank told me!!
  • Ok thanks, I emailed them asking when I should be getting my refund and there reply:
    Hi XXX

We apologise for any inconvenience that you've been caused.

Please contact your bank or card issuer and inform them that no goods have been received and they will start proceedings to recover your funds back for you. Unfortunately we are not in a position to refund your payment back to you as we are dealing with a trojan virus outbreak, as explained on our homepage, which has left our servers very decimated and has resulted in us having no access to our refund area.

    Thankyou for your understanding,

    Evening Assistance Team
  • I wrote to Elite two days ago, then again today after reading upon on this forum.

Within about ten minutes I received the following from Elite Savings
    Hi D****

Please contact your bank and get them to initiate your refund from moneybookers, back to your account as we are unable to do this as our refund terminal has been infiltrated by the Trojan virus.

    Regards,

    Online Team

What a dreadful state of affairs. I am absolutely staggered at what is happening.
  • I write every day to these burglers but no answer to me...
I think this is a crime anyway, but very difficult to prove as they are always blaming problems beside their authority...
  • I recently bought a HTC HD2 from Elite Savings for £300 including postage which i was told would take roughly 15 business days. The only option i had to pay with was moneybrookers which iv never heard of but after googling found it to be a reputable business.

In complete ignorance i didnt google Elite savings, and went ahead with the transaction.

Then today when i went to check the status of my product i came to this img705.imageshack.us/i/eliter.png

Iv been using the internet for about 10 years now and i havent once come accross a website thats contracted a "Virus" , if im wrong please do correct me.

After seeing this i decided to email them, cancel my order and asked for a full refund. I can only hope they respond and i do get my money back :(

Damn my impatience and complete blind ignorance!
  • Their shipping website has been down for days. Now their main business site is down. There is too much of a coincidence here. Something is not very right at all.

Then to be sent on my way with an off-hand "go to you bank for a refund" just gets the juices flowing. I'm madder than a very mad thing right now.

No doubt I'll face a lengthy process and wait to get my money back - but as long as I am protected I don't care how long it takes really. I'll buy elsewhere but for sure Elite Savings will get all the bad press that I can muster.
  • I got the usual "go to your bank" reply within 10 mins which was a surprise!

I then tried to get a bit of info out of them regarding the legitimacy of their business and they replied with:

    " Hi Brian

Thankyou for your email, we will not dispute the chargeback once received, thus allowing you to obtain a 100% refund.

    Regards,

    Online Team"

Not one mention of whether they were an actual business or not! You would expect that if they where, that they'd try to gain back some morsel of dignity and at least try to explain themselves.
  • Dear all
I was so shocked by this thread. I was on the verge of buying a HTC Legend from these scammers. I have tried to alert the 'Which' as i am a member, i hope they can do something to help!

    Re Elitesavings.co.uk

I have been researching buying an electrical product and came across this website that offered unbelievable savings.
Doing my research on this company I identified that a lot of people were/are having problems. Orders were placed and never fulfilled and the customers were then made t pay a 10% + refund fee.

Can you do anything to warn the public about this terrible scam

    Thanks

  • Suggest that if any of you have been burned by this scammer that you contact and report the organisation to consumerdirect.gov.uk]

How can we warn the public about this terrible scam? I bought HTC desire from them on 2nd of july 2010 and have not recieved it and no refund of my money 279.98. I wonder if we can report this to police.
