I haven't written for ages again...

Money wise I'm prettymuch in the same situation, though my overdraft is now £500 lower, so I'm almost out of debt - in my name anyway. I'm going to be making an overpayment on the loan of at least £200 on Friday when I'm paid too. I'm taking a leaf out of Yukki's book and tackling the loan in chunks of £100, hence the numbers in my sig. They look horrible and annoy me, so hopefully that will help me to get rid of them sooner...

I'm a bit sad as the older of our dogs was put to sleep yesterday, it was only 9 months ago that we lost Oscar so it's a shame they went so close. Jazz was nearly 12, his legs had wasted away where he wasn't walking much because of his arthritis, and he kept collapsing. In the end he couldn't walk very far at all, and it wasn't fair to keep him alive. It was hard to let him go as health problems aside he was happy in himself, but he was old and had lived a good life. We cooked him a roast chicken yesterday and my dad walked him around the woods which he loved whilst I was at work, so he had a nice last day. I went to the vets with my dad after work so I got to say goodbye properly unlike with Oscar. Strangely he and his brother (who the breeder kept) were the last two left of the eight in his litter, but his brother was also put to sleep yesterday for the same reason. I think age had just caught up with them both. Anyway, this post is in memory of Jazz who we all loved very much.

Thanks you two. They're offering six permanent jobs at work, with applications finishing on the 16th & interviews the week after. This could work out well for me as I've got over a week worth of accumulated holiday and may have more by the time I get off of my temp contract. The temp agency will pay me for any holiday I haven't taken so I'll probably end up with around £250ish extra in my final temp pay :).

That would be another couple of numbers off of the sig lol.

Fingers crossed for the permanent position. Liking the numbers idea btw. I have mine set up in a spreadsheet and forecasted income that I know we're getting which helps bring the total down. Encourages me a bit when feeling low.

Thanks Maria, he was a samoyed, they're very cute puppies :). I think I could do with a spreadsheet too Yukki. I have one which I might start using now, I might start a spending diary too. I get £253 take home each week, so my plan is to stop using my cards for everything and withdraw £250 in cash. £200 will come off of the loan, and the rest I'll have to live on for the week which shouldn't be too hard. I'm hoping it will curb my spending, as although I don't buy things I can't afford to pay back, I think using my cc and not making the link to actually spending cash makes me spend more than I would if I had cash.

Another £260 paid off of the loan today so I'm under £5000 when it clears :j. I'll update the figure when it does.

    Hi,

Can I suggest you write £250 in your diary every pay day and subract everything you spend/withdraw from the book each day. Try and have some over to carry forward to the next week. Taking out hte fullamount each week is not recommended as you will be tempted to spend it all.

    Regards.
