Good for you. I'm too pessimistic for my own good as well lol.

My laptop charger is playing up, and we seem to have gone from OH having a PC, DD1 having a laptop and me having a laptop to just mine working. I can't afford to buy a new one if we want to get this debt down and wedding paid for. It's very depressing sometimes, but hopefully it'll be worth it in the end.

I've been destashing some of my jewellery beads etc as well which is bringing in some cash.

I'm SO tired today. I've decided I'm not interested in being a manager, I've had enough of people asking me questions constantly already...

Anyway, I've sold a ring which is a few more pennies for me. I think if I keep listing for my life I might have a reasonable amount of money by christmas. This will be the first christmas in about 3 years that I'll actually be selling my jewellery 'properly' so I'm quite excited about the prospect of that. It was great a few years ago, I made nearly £1000 in the 4 weeks up to christmas which was very welcome at the time.

There's a craft fair which happens once in summer and once in winter right in the middle of town on a Saturday. It happens around christmas time so I'm quite tempted to try my hand at that as a LOT of people pass it because it's in the town square. Only problem is I'd need a table which I don't have, and something to keep me dry if it rains.

My overpayment has been made today. The figures won't be updated til Thursday on Zopa but I'm going to take it out of my signature to make me feel a bit better...

Go for the fayre, your stuff is lovely. I'm finding my niche and what sells at the mo, so it's quite exciting. I want to rebrand myself in terms of logo, colour etc, but don't want to spend the money at the mo, so perhaps when I reach a target. Hoping for loads of sales in the run up to xmas, need to keep making I think and like you listing a lot.

I put a note for you in my diary. Edigitalresearch, try them for MS

I think once you've found a niche you're away, I was quite lucky and found mine by accident the first time. I've joined the digital research thingy so hopefully I'll start getting some things from them soon.

Exciting news today... I've had a promotion of sorts at work. I'm being put in a development role which will end in me being a team leader if things go according to plan. There are three at the moment on domestics where I work, one is leaving on maternity and not coming back, so they're going to train me to be one :). I'm not getting any extra pay initially as it's a development thing to start with, but the last person who became a team leader this way got a pay increase when she'd been doing it for a while and things are pointing to the same happening with me.

It's a bit scary but I'm trying to be positive as I know I can do it, it'll be strange moving up a bit in the hierarchy and doing different things. I'm not the kind of person to act like I'm above people and let it go to my head, my manager said that too when he was telling me about it which was quite nice. Oddly OH was a team leader where I work (we met at work) so I'm following in his footsteps it seems.

In other good news, my Zopa figures have updated as below:

    Day 40

Money paid to loan account: £0
    Overpayment paid today: £318.00
    Loan remaining: £5294.34
Total to be paid per day to hit target: £33.09

Yay for the promotion and the totals. It didn't seem like only last week you were on 6K now you're nearly at 4

Thank Yukki. I'm still ploughing away... I forgot to mention that I won £20 on the TAB scratch card the other day but sadly I didn't win anything, never mind.

I've got some other good news too. Every morning there is a meeting amongst the team leaders which I've been going to whilst I've been covering for our actual team leader. This morning I was told there are permanent jobs going up on the board next week (there haven't been any for about 2 years). I've been told on at least three occasions that I should apply for one when they come up, so I'm basically guaranteed a permanent job now. It's a formality but everyone who goes for them has to be interviewed, will be a bit strange being interviewed for my own job!

Not a lot to report today, but I've won £14.50 from jackpot joy so that's a bit extra for the loan :).

It's been a while since I posted on here so I can see this being a long post...

I haven't made any extra payments on the loan recently for a couple of reasons. First I've got my cc bill to pay off, and secondly as another year has passed since graduating my OD is going to be reduced by £500 soon. I'm not sure exactly when as I haven't been told yet, but I know it's coming up so I'm keeping as much cash as a I can in my account in readyness for that. When it's gone all spare money will go back to paying off the loan.

Irritatingly work have messed up my pay for the last 4 weeks. There's a thing called 'MAP' which they do, I'm not sure exactly what it is, but it's something to do with tax which somehow or another leads to me being paid another £12-13 a week. They haven't applied this for the last 4 weeks so now I'm about £50 down on usual. I sent an email to the payslip queries email address but they never got back to me, so I've emailed the lady at our local agency branch and she's going to get back to me when she has an answer about it. I don't know if because of what it is it can be applied to previous pay I've received, if it can't I'm going to be pretty irritated at losing out on the money through no faut of my own, especially when I told them and they've continued not to apply it since. Anyway...

I went into town with OH earlier and ended up spending lots of money :(. We're going to a wedding in a month or so and I need something to wear as I'm not allowed to wear black, and my non-black stuff is all too casual.

I ended up getting two maxi dresses from New Look as me and OH both liked different ones and I couldn't decide. I'm still not sure which one to go with. The one OH likes is purple/lilac/cream in colour and is quite long so I'd need to wear heels with it. He thought it was disgusting on the hanger but looked really nice on :rotfl:.

The other is a cream colour with lots of pink and green floral bits, and some other colours thrown in. It's an inch or two shorter so I could wear flat shoes if I want. OH and the lady in the changing room prefer the first one, but I think he likes it with my hair which is a bit purpley at the moment, though I told him I'm going to do it dark again! I think I'm more pro the other one because it's a bit lighter and it's nice to see myself in something different for once.

I may or may not take the one I choose not to wear back as I've put on about half a stone so my other clothes are getting a bit uncomfortable. The dresses are quite forgiving and would still fit if I lose the bit I've put on (which I plan to - I'm getting on my brothers treadmill when I'm properly better as I've been ill since Tuesday and am still not 100%). Sadly I also bought two pairs of shoes - £12 for some work ones as mine have completely had it - they leak and they are all scuffed and horrible so not much choice there. I also got some navy flat ones for £18, but I've been looking for some for months and found nothing, and they're suede so I ddn't think £18 was too bad.

This is where the confession bit comes in... I managed to save 15% on this lot (making it £77) as I've now got a New Look store card. I know they're 'evil', but I pay my cc off in full every month and will do the same with this. I'm not stupid enough to buy things I can't afford so it's fine. The main reason I got it (apart from saving the 15% today) was that they quite often send out discount vouchers which can be used on sale stuff too. I always get my work shoes from there so if I buy them when I have the vouchers it's all very mse ;).

I said this was going to be a bit of an essay...

Last thing.. I haven't mentioned my veg growing much (or perhaps at all) in this diary, so I thought I should give it a mention. I harvested my new potatoes last week which was great as I got a decent amount of them. My peas and courgettes are flowering at the moment. The courgettes plants are huge! I'm really, really happy with them, I think I'm going to have loads! Same with my peppers, I can't believe how many I've got per plant. I've already had some cucumbers and more will be ready when they are bigger in a week or so. I'm eating my tomatoes as they ripen - I love homegrown tomatoes, they're so much nicer than the tasteless shop ones.

I've also got aubergene, lettuce, apples and berries on the go, but I won't bore you with them too :p.
