My immediate thought was Seren as well.. Such a pretty name. Though you are quite right about taking the theme too far!

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.
  • Ophelia is lovely, as is Scarlett - that was on our shortlist for DD who ended up Leah Alicia :)

Other girls names on our list for if DS had been a girl and for the next one are:

    Evie
    Lottie
    Lily
    Emilia
    Gracie

I love baby names! We've already got a Leah and a Thomas so the next baby will have to follow suit with a traditional name :)

If my last child had been a girl the name would have been Seren Carys Lillie...he was a boy and is Bradie Euan Phillip....the Phillip is after my OHs uncle who died not too long before my LO was born.

My grand daughter is called Dallas Serendipity Lex...Serendipity is for my DDs best friend who has it tattoed on her wrist and Lex is after Alex her other best friend...and it really suits her.

My friends little girl is Ffion Seren - its a beautiful name.

There are so many girls in my family that I really struggle with thinking of names, at the moment I love the name Cally.

DD is Elinor (as opposed to Eleanor) and I never thought people would have such a difficult job spelling it. The most outlandish mis-spelling is probably "Elenour".

My daughter is Ellenor after her Gran, there were many Ellies Ellas etc in her school year.

We have just chosen two lovely names, Bella & Tia

not for babies though, they are puppies!

My goddaughter is Freya! Her little sister is Niamh, and I know even now (she's 18 months old) my family still have issues spelling it! I think they are both lovely names!

I'd never heard of Seren before this post but I really like that! My friend has a little called Olivia and it gets shortened to 'Liv-Liv' (but I cant help but think of liver and bacon when I hear that!LOL!)

Someone earlier posted about Portia, I assume this is pronounced the same as the car (Porsche?)?? My Mum wanted to call me that before I was born ... I'm sooooo glad she didn't!!

Actually have very few girl names I like but have defiently added Seren to my list! Although, my BF is pretty traditional with names so Im sure if the time ever come for us to pick names it would be difficult!! It took us weeks to decide on a name for the cat! LOL!

I have to agree with Ailuro, any of those name, although sounding pretty, are really setting a person up for a lifetime of mis-pronounciation and mis-spelling.
i beg to differ, my name is Roisin, and my sister is Niamh, and we love our names - we laugh at other people's attempts at spelling them...imagine our cousin Caiomhe (keeva) face when she gets cards :rotfl:
