FiL's initials were WC, BiL's are IP & MiL is EAT, or if you shorten her first name BAT ...Initials can spell some funny or not-so-funny things! (had a friend Nick, with the surname O'Brien...
)

I wanted an unusual name for my DS when I had him unfortunately I seem to know quite a few people with unusual names, the ones I can think of are: -
Adrian
Alexarnder (I think thats how its spelt)
Wesley
Alistair
Ethan
Zak
Kayne
Ashley (although I think this is becoming more popular)
Dwayne
Logan
I was lucky when I heard my DS' name it just stuckm so i'll wish you luck on your search0 -
To all those who have mentioned the "chavvy" names listed on here.....PLEASE name them so we don't make the mistake of using them for our son!!
I do think there are regional variations on the chav thing anyway so what might be chavvy in one area isn't in another, therefore you won't offend!;)0 -

I meant to say that my cousin has a 2 year old called Michael, wonder if it's making a comeback?:heart2: Mumma to DD 13yrs, DD 11yrs & DS 3 yrs. :heart2:0 -
I have seen a few Xander's on this list - well I really like Alexander and then would abbreviate it to Xander and then when they are a Barrister they can call themselves Alexander at work and Xander at weekends! I am still laughing, well horses for courses!0

Oh my lordy! Some crackers have been mentioned here! I do also agree that you should be careful of the 'whacky' names becasue the poor child might be Doctor Kieton Wai Moonbeam Smith one day and feel like a right numpty!
I would have George (after my grandad) for a boy and I also like Alexander.
A girl will be Isabella, Esmerelda or Arabella if I get my way!
If you are going to go for something a bit unusual, why not use it as the middle name? For example, I like Luca but it's similer to my BFs name so Luca would be a middle name. I also like Ophelia so that's going in as a middle name. I've always wanted to add a middle name to my name - anybody know how I can do that? I'd like something like jezebel or dolly or pumpkin or oooooo rainbow!
how about Warwick - it's unusual but traditional?
EDT - just wanted to add - I bloody love Ace!! That's great! Again - as a middle name! I know someone who's surname is Steele. Cany you imagine, 'hi, I'm Ace Steele!!'House saving Targets:

I think it's from a certain time - I don't know any Mikes under the age of about 35! Round here it's the same with names such as Stephen, Andrew, Anthony, Simon, Paul, David, Mark etc - I wonder if they'll come back round again. I feel rather old because I think I had all those names in my class at school
I would feel awful putting the names that are a bit 'rough' in case anyone has given them to their children. If I say the ones that sound a bit made up - a lot of them seem to begin with J or K. Also names that are surnames - I know a lot of people like them but I don't. I think a lot of it has to do with accent as well. OH and I have quite different accents - he's a lot broader and we live where he's from (the only place in my life where I have ever been referred to as posh!!) and so it's something I've thought about.0 -
Oh I like this! Here are a couple that come to mind...Kyle, Gabriel, Luke, Lewis, Hugh, Ruaridh (pronounced Roo-ray), Finlay, Laurie..?0

One of my friends has a boy Taliesan which I am not sure about. Another has Caelum which I quite like.0

Well, my first name is Morgan (I'm French), and it's mainly a surname over here...Makes it much easier for me to order a taxi though, as my last name is pretty much unpronouceable here! lol So my regular taxi company know me as Miss Morgan..lol
I quite like *some* surnames as first names, such as Cooper. I much prefer traditional names though, that are the same in different languages (Samuel, Simon, Alex....). But then, I'm probably biased!
Edit: Actually, the more I hear it, the more I like Cooper with your last name...Cooper Finnigan sounds good I think!0
