I must admit I ended up buying an iPhone. My one is over 2 years old now. I like is it because it is SO simple to use. I bought mine outright on PAYG and was paying £10 a month for the web and walk package, but am now in the process of changing to GiffGaff.
It's not bad though, I paid £319 for it from Carphone Warehouse, and it's still worth about half that on eBay.0 -
Hi Folks,
I'm looking for a new PAYG sim card and have read a few comments on here about giff gaff who TBH I had never heard of.
Are they any good?
I am looking for a £10 a month deal that will give me access to my email and send texts. The odd call, but nothing serious.
What is reception like?
Cheers.

If I had discovered MSE this time last year I may not be going down the road to BR

giffgaff runs on the O2 network - so, as long as this works for you - IMO you can't really do better.
If you also search through some of the other giffgaff threads, other people will also have offered alternatives - decision is yours I guess0 -
Thanks, yes starting to wade through some of that now.
Looks a good deal

I've been with giffgaff for over a year now, apart from the odd nertwork outage which all networks can get I've had great service.
Good rates 8ppm and 4p texts and great bundles (goodybags).
You also get services that aren't offered on most payg networks like call waiting, call hold, call divert etc
I'd go for it, maybe pop onto the giffgaff site and order a sim from someone's banner as they get a referral bonus and you'd get £5 free credit on activation0 -
Looking at changing to GiffGaff, and have seen all their bundles.
Trying to find some sort of catch as the offer seems quite good.
What I would (intend) to do is top up £5 for calls, which will last me a couple of months, and then purchase a £5 goody bag for unlimited texts?
Is that possible and would it work?
Thanks,0 -

Thanks,
Ofcourse it would work. There is no catch. I have used Giffgaff in the past and was always happy with the service. The only reason I switched from them was to get a Samsung Galaxy S2 contract. But otherwise, Giffgaff rocks!0 -
I've just joined them, Not topped up yet though,
Not sure about the £5 top up but you can use 02 topup at £10 that would be ok and then there would be nothing stopping you using the goody bag, As it's PAYG the £10 would last you longer so not losing out on anything.0 -
Sounds good then,
Just got to get Virgin to unlock my phone!0 -
