    :o I missed that...thanks..;)

The silly name GiffGaff was causing me concern.

I still think it is a stupid name for a company.

I've just started using them too, they're fantastic, and you get free credit for promotions or using they're website. Loved the packaging too. I only wish all my friends would use them too, then I would get free calls and texts. :P

Given the fact that they offer truly unlimited data plans from £10 SIM only, I think that GiffGaff may benefit from O2's data cap announcement today.

With o2 once again trying to screw us now with the 500MB data cap they will be adding to their contract I am looking at moving to the above company.

Their goodybags seem quite good value and they claim "unlimited" really means unlimited.

I know their parent company is still o2 but they claim they run independent of them.

Has anyone had any experiance with them?

    Thanks

Not sure why so many folk are whinging about the 500mb cap, realistically how many of you are going to bust that point regulary in a month?
World cup match screening excepted, Just checked my bill less than 30mb used since the beginning of the month and that includes using the phone as a modem for my netbook, and also sending 2meg files from the phone just for the sake of it :o
But anyway, I don't have any idea about giffgaff and not likely to change over to them through something rather petty
  • Yeah they are fine, no phone support all internet based. Calls are 8p a minute which is pretty competitive or you can take out a "Goody Bag" each month.

Beware though the Goody Bags run for a month, if you use all your minutes you cant buy another one at the moment until the month is up and your back to the PAYG tarrif.

"When we introduce a charge for using the internet on our PAYG rates, the unlimited internet on our goodybags will continue to exist.

Now the work to deliver data charging for giffgaff on the O2 network has resulted in a priority call between this work and improvements to the core O2 data network. We have discussed with O2 and feel the best thing for giffgaff is that O2 implement the network changes and then make the changes so that giffgaff can charge for data.

This way not only are giffgaffers getting free data for longer, you should also be getting a better data network! Currently this would mean that we would start charging for data on our PAYG tariff from the 1st of October.

This is fantastic news and I’m sure you are all happy with the decision we’ve made in favour of improving the network before introducing the charges. So happy giffgaffing!"
