you have to top up with £10 to activate the sim
you can either use that £10 as credit (8ppm and 4ppsms) or you can use the £10 for a goodybag and receive 100 mins, unlimited texts and unlimited data for one month
you don't have to buy a goodybag
if you don't have a goodybag or the goodybag expires, it's 8p voice/4p text0 -
Its handy for a group of users too Friends/Family/Small Biz etc etc because if you top up every 3 months you get Free giffgaff to giffgaff calls and texts.
Another thing they allow you to do, which other networks dont normally allow, is to call FreePhone Numbers for Free.Which means you can use FreePhone Access Numbers.;)
FREE SIM available here: https://giffgaff.com/orders/free-sim0 -

I cant see the goodybags being a good deal unless it is for the unlimited data of which I dont use.0 -

Just joined GiffGaff - its O2's answer to Asda mobile (on Vodafone) - so far its excellent.
If you know someone on GiffGaff on join the GiffGaff community and are 'introduced' you'll receive an extra £5 free credit - the person sending the SIM also gets £5. Just ask and someone will refer you.
The free data to the end of June is excellent and more than matches Asda's pricing when GiffGaff starts to charge.
The ability to call 0800 numbers free is excellent- even GG tariffs for overseas are cheap for the major overseas countries.
Plus free GiffGaff to GiffGaff calls make it more attractive than Asda at present.0 -
Yup, I will be switching too.
Altho giffgaff is a bit of a silly name, why not just call it 'o2 value'?0 -

Its a different kettle of fish to Asda Mobile and was not O2,s response to Asda.Although it may operate on O2 its run as a seperate company at arms length from O2 proper.Ok some rates may be similar but their are a lot of major differences.0
