I am at work at the moment but off to Germany to see my family in the evening for the weekend. Can't wait to see everyone again. Just a bit sad because I will miss my husband dearly. It's always the same, I go away for 4 days, really excited at first and by the second day I am usually in tears because I miss him so much! Will that ever end??? Don't know what to do about it. I just like having him nearby...

Had friends round for dinner yesterday and managed to cook a lovely buffet meal for 6 for 6 pounds. Thought it went quite well. We had vegetarian lasagne, brussels sprouts, broccoli and cauliflower in butter sauce, linda mccartney sausages, carrot salad and mixed salads, new potatoes with sour cream and herb dip and to top it off, toasted wholemeal bread with pesto-spring onion butter and grilled tomatoes... For desert carrot cake! We had a great time...

Hi all,

Have been lurking as unable to post while at w**k due to formatting problems. Anyway now on holiday until the 5th September.

((hugs)) to all that need them or would just like to take one. Just got back from getting DS's results and he has done well, he is not academic but got 3 B's and 2 C's plus some D's. Going to the local college this afternoon to see if he can Music A level which is the only subject that he is really interested in. Congrats to all those who are waiting/getting their results hope that they get what they want.

While I am off I hope to get alot of cleaning and sorting out done in the house that I never seem to do whilst working fulltime.

Hope everyone has a lovely day, the sun is shinning here in Preston atm so I shall go and tidy up my veggies.

Afternoon all - (damn - just missed the "morning slot)

Raining loads here this morning - so dark and chilly but I've been running around like a loon so no need for heating. One DD has gone to a friends, the other has been clearing out her room - she's done really well so rewarded her with hot choccy and a cake.

I was standing in the kitchen earlier watching a BT man up a pole, in the rain in a yellow rubber waterproof suit......it was fascinating......well he was anyway , and when he got down and took that suit off.....well that was even better....I even had the grace to blush when DD told me off for looking at another man when she's got such a lovely daddy I could be looking at.....kids...they just don't understand!

Rzl - Sounds like you're having fun with that queue!!!

Purpleprincess - Stick to your guns - tell your brother you can't go - it's not your problem and you can't hold his hand at every oppertunity in life...sometimes you need to be a bit selfish in order to make yourself appreciated....chin up.

Moggins - Glad you had fun at Longleat - we're off there on Sunday (weather permitting) Did you do the boat ride with the seals? That's my favourite bit.

Right - I'm going to crack on and clear all the boot fair stuff from my cupboard and get it all boxed up and ready.....might even through some more stuff in for luck!

Cant seem to get my act together today, lost my confidence abit regarding work, probably nothing, probably be fine tomorrow - but having abit of "self doubt" moment about my ability etc IYKWIM ? - must try and be more positive I can do this job - cant I?

I'm cold so have got a hot cuppa, will have to bring my cardy in tomorrow if this carries on!:eek:

might go for a walk see if that helps......really want a choccy bar but trying to diet so must resist!!!!

Second load of washing about to finish and house decentish, tonights dinner all prepared and ready to go.

Decided to pack up our sarnies and off to the park for a couple of hours.

Funny that, I distinctly remember it was only a couple of weeks ago when everyone was having a whine about the heat. My, my, my tsk, tsk, tsk.
