    Morning everyone,

Long time no see, but I promise I have been lurking. Yesterday, I finally got one foot back on the oldstyle wagon, but would you slow it down a bit, 'cos I can't quite get on properly!!:o

It's tiddlin' down with rain here in sunny Suffolk, so today I plan to catch up with some indoor stuff. The pantry needs a good sort out, there's so much in there, but as my daughter say's it's turned into a chuck it and run:p ie: open the door, chuck something in and run before it falls back out:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I am also going to be the proud mother of two kittens on Saturday:j :j
we're adopting them from the Cats Protection League, and I can't wait.

Just need two names for them, as One of them has been nicknamed Carpet cat, as her markings look like a 1970's brown and orange carpet:rotfl: :rotfl:

anyway off to get me and the little one dressed and ready to face the day.

    Have a great day everyone.:D :D

Quick post before I read any of the thread to let you know that we have had a local govt weather warning of heavy downpours, hail and floods this afternoon and evening. It covers a huge swathe of the middle of the country from the South Coast from Portsmouth to Bournemouth areas up to North East Lincs - so if anyone was going to hang washing out I wouldn't bother.

  • Morning all :hello: thank you soooooo much for all your lovely words yesterday. Last night boyf treated me to a chinese and then when I went to work at the pub my boss gave me champagne!! Bless them!! Feeling a bit better today, am away for the weekend from tonight- Reading Festival :D .............................................................................Still not sure what I am going to do about exams, will think about it next week. And about bro...........still don't know! Had 5 texts from my dad about it last night in total! I've been thinking and it would be hard for me to say this but I might just say that he has to go on his own, he was the one that didn't do his community service and that's why he has to go to court again, I can't just take time off because he wants support!! What about the support for me? (Apologies, rant about to start :o ) ...........................................................................Dad and bro just want me to always be there for them and do things for them but what about me? My friends are exactly the same, my birthday is next month and I bet you most of them forget like normal. And they always moan that I'm working, grrrrrr!!! I only get support from my boyf (who is sooooo good to me) and his family, and you guys here on MSE. I do genuinely feel that I couldn't have done even half of what I have done without you guys and the DFW guys :o Just a massive THANK YOU to all xxx (Oh why won't my paragraphs work :p)

    Morning everyone :hello:

    lynsayjane - many congratulations!

Lucie - the t-shirt folding thing is a way of erm, folding t-shirts to store away in your little drawers! It's been posted on here sometime last week, but Anthea did a slow motion demo on Richard and Judy.... which was quite easy to follow. Of course, DH now thinks that I'm completely barking mad! :Dhttp://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4776825453418327083&q=shirt+fold

Yesterday evening, DH and I went to look at another couple of houses. One of them just needs some redecorating, so we're thinking about it. The other one was huge (for our budget), but needs loads of work doing to it. I thought that it would be manageable, but DH seems to think that it would be far too much work. What a party pooper! ;) I suppose he's right, but it just means that we'll have to carry on looking!

Tonight we're heading up to Birch Services on the M62. There is a method to our madness as we're staying there before heading up to the Lake District tomorrow for a couple of days camping. It's supposed to be semi-decent weather up there - fingers crossed that it is decent!

I'll have a little surf around the rest of the site....

Morning all..................(((((((HUGS)))))))))))))) to those who need them, mr included..........well done LJ on your job, best of luck PP at the hospital, Queenie, nice to have you back......

Had a horendous night last night, finally dropped off to sleep at 6.30, OH woke me at 9.30 with my breakfast, feel like death warmed up!!!!!!!!!!

OH bowls match this afternoon has been called off, so have to scarbble around for something for supper, think I might do mushroom frittata and salad.

Noting really planned for today, OH says if it stops raining he will go to the allotment after lunch, so will still have some me time to finish marking up some of the cushions for kits.

The sun is trying to shine, but according to the weather master we have had over 1/2" of rain in the night.........at least we are not haing to water the garden, using the grey water to flush the loo with now...........

Right I am off for another coffee fix.................

purpleprincess - brothers eh, I know all about brothers. I love mine dearly but I know how much hard work they can be. Mine was ill for about two years with depression and basically relied on me for everything, turned up at my house at all hours etc. Obviously, I don't regret or mind all the help i was able to give him to pull him through (and am extremely grateful, that I could help him). However, since his recovery I have hardly seen him. He has only seen his nephew six times in two years.

In a way I'm glad I don't see him because I know he is ok if that is the case but a little thank you would have been nice at some point.

Right, got that off my chest! Hope it didn't sound selfish.

No it doesn't sound selfish to those of us who have brothers made from the same mould (I don't care about that spelling as it works either way.)

Good morning all, couldn't wait to turf DD out of the office to get onto this morning's thread, you're such nice positive folk.

Lillibet, when you do e-bay the stuff, could you do me the favour of pointing me in the direction of, I live in the 1940s, so I was very interested in your day of exploration... from a purely mercenary point of view you understand. I've got the radiation cookbook amongst others, as I collect domestic Home Front stuff. Our next major project is to buy a 1920s+ semi to do up, or down I guess it is, we currently only have a 1940s living room, although I'm managing to creep into the kitchen. We too have one of those glass fronted cabinets, it has a pull out table surface with an enamelled top for prepping baking things, and the inside of the bottom cupboard is metal lined with air vents so its suitable for keeping fresh foods cool.

We've got sun today, and OH booked DD to Puppy sit so we could at last have a day together.... He went back to ban hour ago for an "extra nap" so I'll probably be posting on here until early afternoon. Got the cooker top cleaned though, thanks for hints yesterday.

Hi Everyone:beer: (I wish they'd do a coffee one of those)
