    Morning everyone.

A very early one from me today, as it is GCSE results day, so i am going into school to see how the kiddies have done. I already know the school has got 42% C and above, which is around 20% better than last year, and just what the staff need after the crappy year in special measures. It just shows that we aren't all that bad. Good luck to others waiting for results today.

Congrats to Lyndseyjane on the new job. I hope it is just what you need to put a new spring in your step.

Pennypincher - good luck at the hospital.

hugs to kiwichick and aussielass from the end of yesterdays thread. Hope you resolve your situation today a bit.

elona - sounds like the idea of the new house is just what you need after the previous few months.

lillibet - sounds like you had an interesting day. I love old stuff. Your orange cabinet sounds like it would go well with the orange 70s tiles in my bathroom. ;)

well, plans for the day are, i'm meeting my sisters as my nephew has football camp at my school, will potter with them for a bit, and then come home and do something constructive. My plan is pizza for tea, with some of the chicken from yesterdays breasts that i cooked with a roast dinner.

DH is working away so should be quite late home, so i should be able to get a bit of something done.

Plan 2 - not lose the cat. Yesterday he was missing all day, and fortunately we discovered that he was locked in the garage late last night. DH says the garage is now a bit messy, but as that is his domain and his fault the cat was locked in, i will leave it to him to sort out this weekend.

Have a fun filled day. Best go now if i am going to get to school at a decent time.

    Michelle, xx

    CONGRATS ON THE JOB lynsayjane!!!!!!!

hope you start sleeping better soon jockettuk, it's not easy adjusting to a new area. Good luck with the dinner with the in-laws tonight!

have a good day FrugalJo, and good luck with the housework :)

Those draught excluders sound good Amanda, I might make some during my christmas craft scramble!

Hi Queenie, haven't seen you around for a while. Well done on the book reading. I'm struggling with my books at the moment, I spend far too much time on here!!!

wow what a task lilibet! I love rummaging around old houses, you must have found some fascinating stuff!

Sorry you're in so much pain P-P ((((((hugs))))) to you.

Good luck with the school results michelle, hope everything is OK. :rotfl: at losing the cat! Quite right, let OH clear up the mess!

morning Churchmouse, elona, Pen-Pen, anyone I cross-post with and anyone to follow!

Well, things are going slightly better chez cracker, I haven't killed the OH yet, but finding it very difficult to stay in the same room as him for any length of time...luckily I had 8 hours of 24 to wade through. I'm saving the big finale for this evening....I lurve Keifer Sutherland *drool*!!!

The car is getting fixed. We decided to take the plunge and get it done then try and sell it to pay the bill! The mechanic was very nice and said we could pay it off bit by bit if we don't get the car sold.

The good news is that OH may have found a job.... bad news is that it's in Fort William (the other side of the country). Plus he needs to find somewhere to kip. Still, hope it works out because it will solve an awful lot of problems (not all of them financial)

Right, I've waffled long enough. Have a good day everyone, and ((((((hugs)))))) to anyone who needs one

    Goodmorning everyone,

Thought I'd jump in now while it;s on Page 1.

Hello Queenie, oooops I told everyone you'd run off with the milkman. :D

Well done Lynsay on getting a job.

Had a phone call today, our flatpak kitchen has arrived and we will pick it up on Sunday. Take the truck over. I made a lovely slice for DD. They are having a morning tea tomorrow so I did the honours.

PP Your day sounds about as fun as mine has been. :D

Well off to have a bit of a surf. Have a nice day everyone & (((((hugs)))) to those that need them.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Morning all

Queenie it's lovely to see you back

lynsayjane - congratulations on the new job

PP good luck at the hospital :)

Lillibet that sounds like a multi-cooker, I love mine, it does loads of jobs :)

Amanda I made my first draught excluder last year, it really helped stop the draught from a draughty set of french doors.

Not much going on in the house of moggins today, we have cancelled todays trip as we are all exhausted from yesterday. Longleat was fab and even though we got there when it opened and left when it closed we still didn't get to do everything. Seeing as the tickets were free from Mr T we were quite happy with that. I'm glad we don't have to take Mr Moggins with us any more though as it always costs a lot more, he's more expensive than the kids. We had to buy umbrellas in the shop as it poured down and we had forgotten ours :( but they were a good price at £4.99 each. I did spoil myself a little (first time this holiday and bought a cuddly white tiger and a fairy ornament. But I also managed to pick up a christmas present for DD1 (a skull inside a crystal ball, she's a goth). I would have been under budget but for DH wanting to stop for coffees in the Cafe (£5.20) and drinks in the bar (£7.00) ouch!!

So today I am going shopping for the last bits of uniform (daps, socks and underwear for all) and I am giving in and putting the heating on today as the house is feeling so damp.

    Have a good day all.

  • Morning all,

Thanks for the warm welcome back :D

Did manage to get a few things crosased of my list last night but not as much as I would have liked. Anyway, in my planning mood so I'm going to post my list on another thread today and you can either let me know if there is anything that i've missed or post your own master to do lists so that we can get ideas off each other.

At w**k again today (same as everyday) so nothing much going on today apart from the fact I dropped DH's car off for a MOT this morning so will be sitting by the phone praying for good news!

Purple Princess - I failed one of my exams last year and I must admit it felt like the end of the world. After a couple of days however I realised it wasn't. In fact I think it made me work harder for the re-sit. I'm sure given a couple of days you will see this as just a blip and start focusing on the fact that it won't happen again.

lynsayjane - Congrats on the new job :T :T

Good luck to all those waiting with people to pick of GCSE's today

Take or leave the :grouphug: as needed

    Good morning everyone.

Off work today :j :j :j Really feel like I need it this week. Has been a hectic week. Off today and tomorrow, working Saturday then off again Sunday and Monday. Had tried to get Saturday off as well to make it a fabby long weekend but no luck :(

Its lovely and sunny here today and report is it is to stay this way all day. Makes a change from the dull and miserable-ness of the last few days.

Just had a shower and sitting here in my dressing gown. Have to get ready soon as leaving at 9:30 to go for the weekly shop.

Think thats the only thing I need to get "outdoors" so will spend rest of day giving the whole house a once over. Been really tired all week after work and not much has been getting done :naughty:

Hubby has been doing overtime all week which should give us a few extra pennies for our holiday next month :j

    Have a fab Thursday

Has to be a quick one this morning as going to town in 15 mins to look at the new Primark and I'm not dressed yet. Got back into my OS ways yesterday and put the breadmaker on to discover that its not very well. Managed to get it working but its on its last legs may post about my options to replace later. Better go and get dressed

    Have a good day
