morning everyone, im up early as im still not sleeping properly in my new home, even though OH has been here 2 yrs and ive been up and down all those times in those 2 yrs im still struggling 3 weeks after moving in to get used to all the different noises or lack of them lol.. might get there by christmas.

Today got a plumber (at last) to come and fit our shower, i do miss my shower from my old house.

Tonight going out with the in laws for a meal for there wedding anniversary my oh likes to share this with his parents as his brother and sister take so much advantage of them but never pay them back so my oh likes to show them how much he/we appreciate them.

dd isnt grounded today well not yet so she should be out and about but probably be under my feet all day sulking as her friend called round last night and i wouldnt let her out.

right ofski now to do well im not so sure but i will be back laters to check up on you all

    Good morning all
Congratulations lynsayjane - here's hoping you've set the happy standard for today, I'll bet those chips were good.
I think the mood yesterday matched the weather - I got drenched 3 times yesterday, dog walking - cannot believe I live in the countryside and don't have wellies - and shopping - still think of petrol saved ;)

    Waves to Churchmouse and Jockettuk.

Oven is beautifully clean thanks for all those tips yesterday. Ironing has a small dent in it. Lost cause trying to get the children to go through unwanted DVD's and games, had other plans as soon as friends started call so shelved that until November for Xmas funds.

The sky is blue WM just finished so I am going to put the washing out.
Then I will do some work (work at home).
Will continue to fight with the ironing, shine my sink and chase the hotspots around (think OH is not liking this game !)

Hoping you all have a great day.

Could not sleep as I was mentally moving into the house we would like to buy. Got up at 6 and hung two loads of washing on the line - emptied dishwasher and soaking tablecloth in stain removing solution at the moment.

Have a tea tray beside me and have woken up DD for work!

    lynsayjane

    Congratulations on the new job.:j

    Hi Twink

Could you not sleep either - or are you one of these very organised people who get evrything done by breakfast time?

    :hello: Goooooood Morning! :D:D

Congrats on your job Lyns :T :T

jockettuk - I can empathise, but, take heart that you will adapt to the noises and soon be sleeping more soundly. Have fun tonight! :D

FrugalJo - determination is the key to seeing that ironing pile dwin
    dle ;)

Amanada666 - Enjoy making your draught excluders - haven't caught up with the threads so don't know how you plan to make your, but last year I used old trouser legs and stuffed those with yet more chopped up old clothes, worked a treat ;)

Morning twink, elona and Churchmouse :hello: and all who follow.

Been fairly busy in Queenieland decluttered one bedroom and dismantled the bunkbeds and put in two divans in their place. Still have another bedroom to declutter and decorate in the forthcoming weeks, but no special rush.

Finished buying uniform for the youngest as well as celebrating his 11th. Had a voucher to use on his uniform, plus the WHSmith sale (and another voucher) all helped to get things at a slightly better price than full. :j Same with his birthday gifts, had a voucher for HMV and the sports shop had a sale on too :j :D:D

Good job I kept away from the computer as I wouldn't have got as much done as I planned to do and had to content myself (no real hardship ;) ) with my 'rewards' being time spent reading a book - well three actually being as they were a trilogy :rotfl: Don't know about anyone else, but when I get stuck into a book, I can't wait to get back to it.

It's been raining all through the night and still now, so it'll be indoorsy stuff going on today, including the drying.

    B: Wholemeal toast
    L: HM Soup
    D: Bacon risotto

Still have some Christmas cake stored away so I need to check that, feed it and then wrap it again ready for this year. With the nights beginning to close in again now my head is definately turning towards Christmas things to do :o

Have a good day everyone and ((hugs)) for those who need them.

    Morning All

    Congrats Lynsayjane:T

Well, we spent yesterday helping my parents clear out my great-aunties house as she has just moved into a OAP home. She's lived there since 1937 & it is a huge 5 storey 17 room place. You can imagine what a mammouth task it is! Hubby was like a child at Xmas, running around all the rooms unearthing things:p (he had never been there before) Now my dining room looks like Auntie Wainwrights junk shop with piles of stuff to list on ebay:rolleyes: I also have brought home a kitchen gadget which I shall be posting a picture of soon seeing if anyone can identify it! Don't get too excited, it's not an old gadget but a modern electrical contraption which looks like a cross between a slow cooker & a healthy deep fat fryer:eek: we have no idea what it is or how to use it:eek:

Also found a very old cook book called the Radiation Cookery Bible:eek: Sounds like something issued to help survive a nuclear war but it is very very well used, always a good sign! We sat & pulled a box of 1971 Christmas crackers with lunch, well we didn't want to bring them home or throw them away:D I swear the novelties in cheap crackers are still exactly the same:rolleyes:

Found tons of furniture which we need to sell, I was particually pleased with a 1920's long thin free standing kitchen cupbaord with as etched glass panel in the top, it will look very stylish in my bathroom:D, although it is currently painted orange:eek:

    Have a good day everyone:T
