good morning all and congratulations to lynseyjane on her new job :j
Had a bit of a lie-in today after yesterday's exertions. Can't believe we were out all day in York and the rain only started once we were on the train back home.
Today will be a lazy day most likely, though I would like to take DS and DD swimming. DS is not up for it though as he is still worn out from all the walking we did yesterday. A visit to the supermarket is an absolute must though as we have no milk, no cereal and have run out of other necessities.
Hope everyone has a great day today."Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Morning all.
Thanks for the warm welcome yesterday.
Congrats lynsay-jane on the job :T
I'm waiting to hear how my students have got on in their GCSE this year. I had a group of 42, so it'll be interesting to see if they did better this year compared to last. The fence man has done half of it and it looks fab. It chucked it down so much yesterday that he couldn't finish. Now the sun's shining, and he's toiling away
I've tackled the ironing, now for the boxes and vacuuming, if I can get the thing out from the cupboard where it's been "boxed" in. Have a great day everyone;)0 -

Ooo me too! In fact the fire is on already drying out the cat!!
The slow cooker is definately going on soon as we have friends coming over for dinner tonight and I am going to make a chicken casserole (with dumplings if the weather doesn't improve).
I am also going to pop on a pan of soup using up all the vegetable leftovers from the weekend.
Is it really still August? I promise I didn't say the bar**cue word! Who did then?
Got to tackle the ironing pile today and make a start on the bedrooms if I can get my head out of my book that is (know just how you feel about a good book Queenie) I am currently helping Mr Churchill with the peace treaty thanks to Michael Dobbs latest!

I have put the first load in the WM, and do need to put the BM on, but anything else can be left until later. The weather has been so bad this week, ive not been able to do anything much with my 2, so would like to take the oppertunity today if i can!!!
Had a free sample of jucee juice in the post today, also £3 in vouchers regarding some toilet roll i complained about, and also a letter from M & S saying i could have a refund and a replacement of some salad i wrote and complained about to them!!!! Have never been into complaining before, but will def do it from now on!!!!

Well I was just relaxing in the bath, had just put my head under the water when......... bang bang bang on the door  Jumped out of the bath and wrapped a towel round myself, ran down the stairs (dripping everywhere - it's a wonder I didn't kill myself on the laminate floor :rotfl: ) and it's DH's 4 new tyres being delivered - well I'm trying to roll them into the house without my towel slipping off - which fortunately it didn't - what a nightmare :rotfl:Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0

to Penelope Penguin - I posted here before I read the remainder of yesterday's post so apologies for not replying to your post of last night.
We didn't get to do too much in York as we live in Preston and the train journey is 2hrs 25 mins.:( Not helped by the fact that DS, DD and DD's BF didn't want to get up early to catch an earlier train. Still, we managed to ride the Norwich Union wheel then we had lunch followed by almost an hour of queueing to get into the York Dungeon. The kids loved it even though they were scared out of their wits a few times. :rotfl:
The rest of the time was spent wandering around enjoying the sights of York and then shopping for little prezzies before catching the 5.09 train home.
York is a beautiful city and each time I visit I find another little part that I hadn't seen before. Now I know who to ask for pointers on making the most of my next visit."Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Sorry but got this vision in my head and its making me laugh:rotfl:Those we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear

Are thinking of you today.0 -

I think some people call them plimsoles? They're the black rubber bottomed footwear that the kids use for PE
SOMO1 thanks for that laugh, I shocked DD by laughing out loudOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

tired mum - I'm in essex too, hasn't stopped has it!
We were going to go to a fun day but I think it is too wet so we will go to small monsters instead and then I must really start to tidy up this house. It has got out of control again.
Have fun allMember 105 of 1% at a time - 23/100 :j0
