Anyone know what I can do with a granary loaf that didn't rise? perhaps the mix was out of date? or I misjudged the water temp
or maybe I need to get myself one of those all singing and dancing panasonic breadmakers?;) Yeh maybe not, meant to be cutting back! Anyway I guess the breadcrumbs will be useful for something! Maybe an apple charlotte (but no apples in!)
At least the soup turned out alright am having left over bread sticks with it.
Shez - maybe a spot of lunch and a walk will help, of course you can do the job that's why they gave it to you! (((Hug))) everybody has days where they doubt themselves but think about all the skills you have finely honed by bringing up your family and nothing will seem scarey again!
Purpleprincess - :T It is not easy to stand up for yourself, well done!
Off to kick the breadmaker now!
ps Never ever turn on the a blender full of soup without first fixing the lid firmly in place! Amazing the places soup can get to!

Hi everyone!
Sorry haven't had time to read the thread but hugs to all that need them.
Didn't make it on the board at all yesterday as was out for my monthly company lunch...roast beef yum yum:j
Seem to have finally caught up with all the hol washing. OH is going to finishe off the last bit of ironing this evening whilst I do the weekly menu and shopping list. Am seriously wondering whether to set up some weekly cards with the menus on them and then just select one when I come to do the list. I waste so much time digging through all my recipe books!
Well I got the blackberries picked and they're now frozen and am planning to pick elderberries with a friend on Sat. Intend to make elderberry jam and elderberry cough mixture with them. She's also bringing her recipe for sloe vodka so hope to have a crack at that as still have some sloe gin from last year.
Am off work tomorrow and Tuesday so will be catching up with friends and jobs. If the weather holds we'll be cycling out to one of the village pubs along a disused railway line to meet friends for lunch tomorrow. If it rains we'll take the car! Sat weather permitting I shall start repainting the garage work [or at least get the prep done]. We've got family coming for Sun [cold chicken from roast put aside for chicken & mush pies], long walk plus picnic Monday and friends coming for lunch Tues. I shall need to get back to work for a rest!!

Hello everybody. Ive been in a rush all day today trying to do my usual Thursday chores and also having to take youngest daughter to get her GCSE results. They weren't as good as she wanted so she was upset. We then found out there had been a major error made in her class's music exam in that the exam board hadn't marked any of their coursework! They had all been given a really low mark because of this. Also, her coursework for RE has been put down as not being received either so her mark for this may have to be raised if they ever find it! I can't believe they can make mistakes like this. My older daughter has had the same trouble with Biology A Level. Her coursework hasn't been included in her mark either! What is going on!
Im really tired now and don't feel like making anything for dinner tonight. Never mind, I'll think of something!0 -
Hi All,
Its all been happening here this week, I feel as if it will never end.
*We had a new carpet put down 6 weeks ago, lovely, but is has a join in the doorway. The fitters and the manager said it wouldnt wear and would last fine. 6 weeks on the carpet on both sides of the join has been fraying constantly since fitting. My complaints to the shop have FINALLY resulted in us being given an entire new carpet for the room! Surely had they come out earlier they could have fixed it? Then again, the carpet cost us over £400 and that was with 60% off so they have shot themselves in the foot in waiting so long:p. Though I am pleased its being fixed I hate that I now have to gut the entire room again, just when its looking homely.
*The boiler saga from the other day is somewhat sorted. We have decided that we will leave the boiler for now. Its working fine and if in the future something goes wrong and we cant source parts then we will sort it then.
The leaking radiator has been fixed and thanks to my home emergency cover on the H&C insurance we didnt even have to pay the excess. The carpet which had gone mouldy has also been sorted. The cleaner from the insurance company came out today and told me the carpet didnt need replacing (phew) and even treated the mould for me on the sly so I dont have to pay the excess on the policy:D, what a nice man!
*Have decided I am no longer going to bother trying to please my MIL. We moved 3 months ago, she hasnt phoned to see how the kids are let alone come for a visit. I ask her to come and stay she says she cant cause shes busy with the other grandchildren. She lives with them and has just been on a 5 week holiday with them but wont come to see my children even for a day. This REALLY upsets me and upsets the children too, well DD1 at least. She has said that shes thinks her nanny doesnt love her anymore cause she doesnt see her. I've decided to make her feel guily now and make her see what she is missing by being so selfish. Each week the children and I will send her a letter with drawings/photos etc. I am bu*****d if I'm going to call her either, am going to wait and see how long it takes for her to ask after her grandchildren.
*The planning officer has rejected our plans for the kitchen extension saying they dont meet restriction guidelines. F**K her guidelines. All the detached million pound houses in the village can do what they sodding well like but because ours is ex council we cant do sod all.
Having written this down it seems pathetic that I feel as awful as I do. I dont know if its all the above, the holidays with kids everywhere or a bit of both but I really am down ATM. Am at the stage where I am considering the happy pills againwhich I also hate because I've only just came away from them after 2 years use. Are therapists avalible on the NHS?? I dont know if that would help or not. I just feel such utter sh*t at the moment.
Really really sorry to bring such a downer to the day, I really needed to try and get it all out of my system.WW Start Weight 18/04/12 = 19st 11lbsWeight today = 17st 6.5lbsLoss to date 32.5lbs!!!0 -
((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))Kiwichick, at least you got the carpet replaced and the other bits sorted.
I know what you mean about happy pills, I could have done with them this week too, but have managed to pull myself out of the abyss, but having a good old moan is worth a thousand pills, you can moan to me as much as you like, just send me a PM.
OH has gone to the allotment for a couple of hours so I am busy stitching one more cover to go after this one..... then some patterns to make up, just hope I manage to sell some, need to make some dough fast!!!
I cooked a double helping of braising steak in the pressure cooker, will divide it up into two containers and freeze it, need to look at my shopping list for next month, will be away for 4 nights dog sitting again.......there should be apples, so I may well cook them in the aga and bring them home to freeze in containers....looking forward to a change of scenery.
Tea time me thinks.........

Hope everyone else is having a good day.
