From my point of view I got some very high standard, excellent help from my Local MIND. This, in my case took the form of a year's free therapy, one to one with a fully trained counsellor, they evaluate your needs, and can tailor what they offer to suit you. I've had N.H.S. help before, and while excellent was limited and subject to long waiting lists, (reduced to six months for the suicidal) For either, get your name down quickly for counselling, you can always withdraw from it if you don't need it when its finally offered.
This is just my own opinion, based on my own experience, but I feel what I was given was very successful, and would love to offer hope to anyone who feels in any way as I did at the time.

    Hi everyone :)

I know I haven't posted in a few days (sorry!) but I've been trying to finish some craft stuff and it was all I could do to keep up with reading everyone elses posts! The cards are finished now though, and are on their way to their destinations. It feel strange not to have to work on them though :D

You've all been so busy! Sorry I'm not going to be able to mention everyone:Moggins - hope your hand is getting better; elona - hope things are going better for you; Kiwichick - hope you feel better soon: don't let her get you down!; purpleprincess - well done!; Peem - welcome! (also welcome to all the other newbies over the last few days!)

I'm going now to try and catch up on all the other threads - I may be some time - if I don't reappear by saturday someone come looking for me please? :rotfl:

    Have a nice evening people!

    hi folks,

firstly huge apologies both for the slightly drunken post :rotfl: and for just skimming lightly over your posts today, unfortunatly it's half ten and the first chance i've had to get on here, i've realised i have nowt for lunch tomorrow and no scoobie whats going on :rotfl: so i'm afraid i don't have time to read all your messages!

many thanks for all the good wishes, i'm really excited about the new job, it's receptionist at the gym i've been goin to for th epast 7 months, so it feels like going to work with friends. more money and i get free membership AND it'll save me time walking between work/gym/home...especially if i move into the place (just hope they have internet!):rotfl:

however i may be needing your help to cut back a little as i'm now living till my next paycheck, possibly in five weeks on two weeks of wages. i'm moving from fortnightly pay to monthly...i should manage if i can control my spending

anyway i hope you all had good days, and big hugs to those who didn't. i promise to get back on the old style bandwagon tomorrow...after i buy lunch out at work!

    Hello everyone

Am knackered again...well not literally:o...only home from w*** about an hour ago, was there since 8.45 this morning, so it has been a long day. I was up in the middle of the night last night as usual...then managed to get back to sleep again, but a deep sleep and consequently was in a bit of a hurry to get out the door 1st thing. Tomorrow is Friday hurray!!! And it's a bank holiday weekend yippee yipee yippeee!!!!!!

PurplePrincess...I hope you don't mind me commenting, but it strikes me that both your father and your brother are looking to you to do the things your mother would have done within the family. I'm sorry, I hope I haven't upset you with this observation. They probably don't realise themselves that they are looking to you to perform the maternal role, forgetting that actually you are still the daughter and still the sister and that you need the support and encouragement like every daughter and sister needs and craves. I suspect that if you'd been a boy their expectations of you would probably be different right now. I too think you've done the right thing by saying no to your brother. He's big enough to get himself into bother, he's big enough to get himself out of it.

KiwiChick...sorry you're feeling down. I think it was courageous of you to get off the happy pills in the first place. From what I hear cognitive behaviour therapy (I think that's right) can be very effective. I'm sure MIND or your GP would have more information about it (or google for that matter). I dread the day when I have to face the world without my happy pills...but I don't think there is any shame or weakness in taking them...but at the same time I think that the medics prescribe them because they are so convenient compared to talking therapies. If you don't want to take them then do put a bit of pressure on your GP to at least get you onto a waiting list. You always have us, and I hate to suggest this, but if you just want an earhole to shout into there is the Samaritans at the end of the phone line as well. BTW, to be perfectly frank your MIL is bad mannered and ignorant. Don't let her make you feel bad, you are the one who has done absolutely nothing to feel bad about and your kids will learn how to behave properly because they will learn from you and not from her.

Just a wee word for Shez...Shez of course you can do that job, of course you are good enough! Of course you are not expected to be 100% perfect all the time (though you are probably not too far off most of the time!!). These sorts of thoughts are (apparently) common amongst women...but don't sell yourself short or beat yourself up...these are just thoughts like those that say "eat chocolate" and which come from nowhere specific and don't do any good. If such a negative thought pops into your head just say to yourself "I am good enough and i am doing this job perfectly well". Keep thinking that. Negative thoughts are just a bad habit...chase out those negative vibes with positive ones...think of all the good things you have achieved - family, house, quals, long time in last job, etc etc etc...you have lots to be proud of and will have more to be proud of as time goes on.

Have to go to bed now!

    Night all!

Oh by the way, big welcome to the Newbees:hello:....glad you've found us and joined us...

    Bye!

Hi, I have just managed to get on here.
Sorry, haven't had time to read everything, so hugs all round!
Congratulations on job, lynsayjane (yes, I just managed to read the last post here!)
Still busy with Holiday Club, also DS is off to camp next week, so will have to get him organised, too. And I am in the middle of doing the church magazine for this month. Why does everything all come at once?!
Anyway, just wanted to say hello!
Hope you had a good day.
