I love those tights - on the slim and under 23! Have achieved very little today, and need to get up and at them in the morning. One week to pay day and the mortgage hokey cokey/hoop la.

Good news on the decision front Toots. Hopefully, you can enjoy your garden during your retirement, something you can't do if you are still working and buying more property.

What sort of dogs are you after? I can recommend cats!

Oooh, can we start a thread poll Toots?

Firmly in the dog camp here! Anything with poodle in it gets my vote! dog.gif

I support the truly amazing Greyhound Gap so my dog will probably be a whippet and will definitely come from them. Raining here so with no more ado I am off to cut out and make two summer dresses. In an almost unknown move I have £450 left in the bank so today I have made an overpayment of £250.

Oooh, added it to my list ... I usually lurk around the Poodles In Need website (there are at least two on my current "I want to give it a forever home" list) but I have a real soft spot for lurchers, as I'm sure our boy (meant to be a collie x poodle) is a lurcher in a collie coat (he actually looks the same as the cutie Battersea are using in their current ad campaign, also seen on 2nd image here)

I'm with Gally Girl, Barley is fantastic! * to GG *

Well done on the OP Toots, you know, having recently read all of your thread your change of mindset and determination with the task in hand is now so evident. Right at the start of your journey you put in things like "£x left to spend" now you're straight in there with an OP as soon as there's spare cash! Good on you!
I hope that comes across in the spirit intended, it's not meant to be patronising or snarky, I just admire the way you've really changed old habits to get those pennies working for you, is all ... sometimes the true spirit and expression isn't easy to get across in text when commenting, so I hope you'll understand where I'm coming from x

Hi All, yes Barley is a beauty the Saluki crosses are always pretty. I doubt he will be around for long. I hope to get a dog in the autumn so it will depend who is around at that time I am slightly loving Buddy the Staffie..........................

HBBBO of course i don't mind your comment it is SO true. I have been fortunate to earn a very good wage in recent years and I am queen of it trickling though my fingers. I am trying to be different now in readiness for living on a lot less money when I start taking my pension. And I am hoping to put off taking my pension for as long as possible, my current take up date is the 1st October I am trying to get enough work to put it off for at least another couple of months. No Spending `Day yesterday and hopefully the same today.

Looking at Gap's pages I mean Dude not Buddy, senior moment. Sadly as he is a Staffie there is every chance he WILL still be there in September.
