Hi greenT, nice to see you. I am back in the groove now on the train on Sunday evening. the house is coming together but there are loads of bits to do and it isn't very comfortable as downstairs is full of boxes etc.
It is four weeks until I go away so I need to get my act on track so that I can enjoy myself with a clear conscience. My last builders payment goes out on 1 March but as a sad single I will need to pay a handy person for a couple of days to put up pictures, shelves etc. All of that can wait until April though.
big day at work on Tuesday when we go through the cuts, very difficult times I hope to have a job for the next three years so I need to get wiggling.
and one big wiggle is Ebaying"........none done yet.0 -
I've just realised that it is half term, so the traffic will be much reduced and I don't have to leave for work until 7.30 and I can get the bus instead of the train. Small things, but it really makes a difference.
7 days until pay day and £26 left.0 -
It's really nice not having to rush quite so much in half term
Just shows how many kids get a lift I guess. Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Coffee £2.10. I have nothing to say because I am doing nothing as I have had a very spendy few weeks and I have paid for my holiday too. I can't wait to go away, three weeks on Thursday, do I need a new snorkle? NO.

My brother has asked to borrow £2000 for six months. It must have been very hard for him to ask he is a bit older than me and is struggling having gone from a professional job to doing anything to bring in a bit of money, he has been out of work and odd jobbing for four years so their savings have pretty much gone. They have a holiday house in Italy which is up for sale , no buyers at all, he is licensing it to be able to rent it out. He has some money but doesn't want to use it all at the beginning of the renting season, as he needs to have some money to live on for the next two/three months. I will lend him the money, I know that he will give it back as agreed. He is asset rich, cash v poor. And property needs to sell for him to recoup some funds. It is a pretty house I hope they get a reasonable income from renting.
Obviously because I am profligate I don't have £2000 but I have borrowed it on a 0% deal for six months. Oh dear I am making no real progress.0 -

your bro is lucky to have a sister like you - I know if mine were in real trouble I would do the same...as you say, must have been hard for him to ask ..
you must be really looking forward to your holiday - not long now!

Coffee £2.10. Just about keeping on track. Roll on 5 on Friday.0 -
Praise the Lord it is SUNNY. I have walked around the park and really enjoyed the feeling of early Spring. Now I am back at my flat about to do my regulation two hours of cleaning. Surely that is enough for a two room tiny flat?
Once that is done I am coming back to re-define my money plans, look at where my challenges are and get my life back on a better financial footing. I am £2k out due to loaning my brother some money for at last six months.

In the park yesterday , by chance, I met someone that I shared a flat with when I first came to London about 25 years ago. It was lovely to see her and meet her 23 year old daughter and 6 month grand-daughter, where does the time go?????????????
I haven't sorted out my money as I am not sure what to do about the money I am loaning to my brother, it might be most cost effective to use my overdraft for three months and pay it off that way. when 'I get the money later in the year I can pay it off the mortgage.
Coffee £2.10, weight watchers still on going.0 -
Avoiding money until the week-end too tired to even think about it. coffee £2.10, porridge £2.45 (late leaving the house so missed breakfast).
I have started ironing summer stuff for my holidays it is hard to imagine being in the heat of the Tropics at present. Still on WW still feel absolutely no different! Probably it will take 3 stones before I feel slimmer.
I can't go to WI this week as i am out of London, I want to know how much I have lost, an appointment with Boots weighing machine on Saturday at opening time looks necessary.
I am doing teh snagging list at my house on Saturday, woohoo it is really nearly finished.0
