I've only got mastercard - they're both accepted all over the place now, unlike in years gone by when Visa was perhaps more popular than Access. Amex is still not massively popular, but the other 2 are fine, so go with one if you can (and have flexibility on cr limit if you had an emergency)
Fantastic sewing stuff! And well done on sticking to the diet

Nipping in to say hello, I am in my house, there is still quite a lot to do......But what is done is great and when it is all done (probably another three weeks) it will be absolutely lovely. The upstairs is done and unpacked so it is fine to be there, downstairs needs some work in the kitchen, scullery and laundry, the floors sealing in the dining room and everywhere decorating. I have also made a couple of changes which have meant extra work but are worth it.
Really good news though is that the public lavatory blue has really grown on me and now I like it, genuinely!
I have been spending money like water on "bits" and still have a lot to spend so my overpayment targets are at risk. This month and next will be spendy but hopefully after that 'I should be back on track.
I still haven't unpacked the box withe the broadband thingummy in it, it is difficult not to have broadband but you get a lot more housework done!0 -
I am back in London and I really need to sit down tonight and work out where on earth I am financially.
My house is really looking good but I probably have another £1500 to go on plastering, built in cupboards in the dining room and deciding that one of my worktops will be granite after all.
I finally got weighed on Friday and have lost 8lbs sine 7th January, I am pleased as I have gone out with friends and lived a normal life etc but still lost and it has been fine. My next goal is another 8lbs by the time I go on holiday on March 23rd. 8lbs is only 8% of the total I have to lose so there is a long way to go but it is going in the right direction. A good friend from work is going to WW with me and that makes a big difference as I don't want to let her down and we are being a bit competitive and keeping each other going.
I need to get a more robust financial plan as I am raining money. Still everything is nearly finished now so it all feels doable. There won't be overpayments in March as I am going on holiday but after that I can motor. I still want to hit £150k by the end of the year.0 -
Well done on the weightloss. Slow and steady will definitely get you there particularly with small lifestyle changes you can stick too.
Glad you like the house colour better now you have lived with it for a bit.0 -
Well done toots, that's really good for your 1st month - and that's without the support of the group. Good luck for next month :jA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Nice to see you both, thanks for your support.
Yesterday coffee £2.10. I am really broke this month due to reckless spending so it will be quiet times for a while. I have £70 in the pound coin stash to last me until the end of the month. My train tickets are bought and paid for, I owe my Mum £30 which I will transfer on the Friday before pay day.
Looking at the finances I will be able to pay off about £500 next month and still have enough money to cover my holiday spends.
My builder is going to do £1500 more work and then it will all be finished, furniture looks like it will be on next years agenda as I have ended up spending £4k more than my original budget on home improvements and I need to get the mortgage paid down as much as possible whilst rates are so low.0 -
Fruit, veg, a chicken and milk £20.09.
Work is interesting and a bit challenging, but luckily I have no corporate events this week so life is good and I am enjoying getting home at a more civilised time.
I am still on the WW diet, obviously, and still no cheating (fairly miraculous) I have upped my exercise to at least 11000 steps a day which has meant some lovely early morning walks over Westminster Bridge, and some less glamorous ones in Herne Hill. However until I have lost quite a bit more weight I am not brave enough for swimming so walking will have to be my main activity.
I am sorting out my payments this evening so I can get them on-line for 1st March, it isn't pretty but hey it's not terrible either.0 -
I walked across Hyde Park yesterday the crocus are out, the sun was shining it was a lovely feeling of Spring being round the corner.
Freeholders meeting in my block of flats tonight, oh what joy.
I am back to my routine of week-ends in the north, my big aim is to find the box with the broadband thingummy in it so I can get on line!
Drinks with friends, £8.60, coffee £2.00, paid back my Mum £30. (Wednesday).0 -
Well done on everything you've achieved! Big pat on the back!!!
