lol! I have to say that I apply more of the 'pantry principle' to meal planning - in effect I plan by what I buy, rather than buy what I plan (ie: if I buy a load of reduced steak I'll plan around steak, rather than plan steak meals and buy full price steak, iyswim?) There are some articles on it on the web - but I didn't know it was called that until last week, it's just what I did
But MSE is a fab site, full of much useful info and handy tips - I love it!
I sold 8 items on ebay todayOnly little ones, but should hopefully gain me another £30+ OP when all paid for

I think an SOA is a good idea toot just cause it's always an eye opener
I know what you mean about being in awe of these amazing people we chat with who are super women. I always go in fits and starts with meal planning and my spending diary but MSE always reminds me what I should be doing and helps me start againCurrently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Thanks all looks like it's SOA time at the week-end then..........................Coffee £2, bread, salad, milk £3.23. My floor steamer has died which is a bit annoying. I've switched it off to see if it has a Lourdes-like resurrection when it's cooled down. Otherwise it will have to wait until I get some Christmas money as I have whole kitchens to buy. Off to York for a meeting tomorrow then only have to work a half day on Friday, woo and indeed hoo.0

2 X gin and tonics MUCH needed after a hard days work in the north. Looking forward to the week-end and hoping for the gorgeous weather to continue.0

Today I am sorting stuff AGAIN and meeting friends for dinner which I am really looking forward to.
And the list is:
Kitchen, scrub floor, seal floor, general clean and tidy.
Bathroom, Clean
Hall scrub floor, seal floor
Bedroom, hoover, little bit of tidying
Do washing
Do ironing0 -
I've just read through your entire thread and you are not in any way, shape or form a MFW. You are an insult to the real MFWs who post their real sacrifices to obtain something that is beyond the reach of most of us until the 25 year point of most mortgages.
Stop posting about your £2 coffees and £10+ rounds of drinks on an almost daily basis - it's insulting to the real MFWs (well, I find it insulting on their behalf).
"I have a modern flat so my plan is to have American shutters" - is in no way a MFW statement.

Morning toot,
Good luck with the cleaning mine is still waiting if you fancy a challenge.
I think that post was a little uncalled for and rude this is you diary and you didnt make her read it, I have a DFW diary and post the strangest things its my diary am I not allowed to do that.
At least you saved £2 by not having coffee on the way to work yesterday :rotfl:MARCH 2016 DEBT £25750/ £25035

NOW JAN 2019 (that still needs to change)0 -
Gosh, that told you Toot. Did no-one tell you about the stringent entry requirements for having a diary on here:
- no discretionary spends
- no holidays
- absolutely no plans to do anything that involves spending money, especially as part of a plan
- i.e. no life
Of course your diary would be so boring no-one would read it, but at least someone would be happy. Or should I say, less miserable.
What happened to the floor steamer (& what is it) - did it resurrect itself or did it need mouth to mouth?
What about house - how is that going - doesn't it feel weird to know things are being done and you can't see it (I'm too much of a control freak, I'd have to be there at every step).
Have a good weekend
PS Joolz, no need to feel insulted on my behalf thank you, I can manage that all by myself. If the need arises.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0
