Well I did the final run of week three yesterday and managed it ok. Then received my rads dates through the post, they start on Wednesday so that may be when my running sort of gets a bit out of synch, I have no idea how they will affect me but my oncologist has said that people who keep active through radiotherapy suffer much less from fatigue so I will aim to keep it up.
alliwantistosave I am so impressed by your weight loss, that is a huge achievement, well done you, I imagine the running has helped you along the way to gaining you new svelt image though?!

I have just done W2R1 and actually found it easier than last week. I do my runs Mon, Wed, Fri and I think the 2 days rest really did help. Slightly tempted to try week 3 for next run but think I will probably stick with W2 just in case it was a fluke. I have been trying to find shiort 5k - 10k runs in South Yorkshire for possibly next year but can't seem to find any! Can anyone tell me the best place to look?

    Thanks

Well done Eveie - if you find the week 2 runs too easy, why not try week 3 - you can always drop back down if it's harder than you expect. As for finding races - Runner's World website is good for race listings, and you can search by location, or there is bound to be a Race for Life nearby, which is a good one to start with, as there will be so many people going slowly - it always feels better after all that training to be overtaking people and finishing up the field, rather than trailing after the super-runners in a serious race.

    How are you, Poly1?

Well did ok with week 4 run 1 :j:j:j:j
BUT now started radiotherapy, plus today was really windy and wet and barely managed today, think it was probably a combination of the treatment and the weather. My radiographer actually asked if I was intending to do any light exercise because she finds that patients who do have less fatigue overall so I will continue but maybe will just repeat week 4 for a while until treatment is over, also have the problem that my skin may get sore and therefore may have to stop if I can't wear any support for the remaining boob :o.
Well done to all of you who are just starting or still going.

The running has made a big difference on my arm's and shoulders, I wish it would tone my tummy more but we can all dream ;) Thank you for your lovely comments but trust me I was a walking heart attack waiting to happen so needed to do something with my life. I am still not svelt but I am happy where I am now which is the smallest I have ever been :rotfl:

Why don't you take some measurements now and then re-take them at the end of the plan and see what a difference it makes? (I wish I had)
I had also done exercise 3x a week before starting the c25k which helped with my loss, I just needed to take my exercise 1 step further.

Well done on getting out today despite having your treatment, And I can understand the not wanting to run unsupported ;) That would just be painful

Well unfortunately I didn't do week 4 run 3 today, was just too tired when I got back from the hospital :(, I am waiting to see how I feel tomorrow and may venture out then. I think I will just continue with week 4 until the rads end, although the I have now found out the next round of treatment starts end of September and it may affect my heart . So hoping that the running will help my heart and overall fitness so I can cope better with the next bout of stuff they throw at me!

Hello you nice people! :D Today I started W1R1 and I feel really happy I have started. I've read this entire thread from start to finish and after I did my first run early this morning on the treadmill I cried a little because I feel like today is the first day of the rest of my life. :) And this is a big way to help reach my goals. I just want to say thank you for the people on this thread for helping inspire me.

Well today I did W1R2 and I am really pleased I did it again.:D I am doing my time on the treadmill and like I seem to read which happens to so many people I am starting out at a slow pace even though I feel I could go faster I don't want to hurt myself and drop out of doing this and right now just trying to build my endurance up right now.

Hello Little Evo! Well done for getting started :D

You have a great attitude, keep it slow and steady and you'll get there in no time - as our club coach never tires of reminding us "you should be able to talk but not sing".

Hope you're ok, Poly1 - I am thinking about you, and about your girls x

Well I have now officially completed Week 1 Run 3 which I'm proud of! :D Next week I'm getting the kids involved and we are going to go to the park on my off days and have a walk around as they have said they want to help me get healthy.:D
