Thanks Ruby-Eskimo. I dug out an old pilates DVD and did that yesterday. Not sure if today's aches are from that or the running!

Have done my W1R2 today. Tried to run a bit slower, so I could actually finish them, and tried a different route, that seemed to have less uphill run sections. From here, everywhere is uphill, but no so you notice in the car!

Feel good that:1) I actually got off my rear, and continued the programme, and 2) managed all the runs.
Need to lose 23lb, but need help!:( DFW Weightwatcher: 5lb/26lb

Well I did my last run of week 2 today before I went to the hospital so had to get up early to do it ! TBH I don't feel any better doing the 3rd one of the week than the 1st, am a little worried I wont manage week 3 at all, or that I am pushing my luck to do this in the allocated time :(. I am wondering what to do really, should I attempt week 3 and be prepared to be disappointed when I can't do it or repeat week 2 and feel a little disappointed that I had to repeat a week so early? When I got to the second to last run today I stopped about 2 seconds before the podcast said to (was going v slow too) and I did make the last run but only just.

Poly - I would consider just trying week 3 run 1 and see how you go, you are doing very well and have managed 6 runs already :T If you feel you don't want to do week 3 then just do week 2 run 3 again then on to week 3 run 1. Trust me if I can do it anyone can :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Hope it was all well at the Hosp visit ?

Suziebea - well done on doing run 2, and good luck with run 3

alliwantistosave Thanks for the advice, looks like, from your sig, I could take advice from you in the eating department too, I managed to put on over 10kg during the second half of my chemo and now have that to lose too, do you find that the running helps to lose weight at all? The hospital appt was fine it was just a scan and two tattoos  (actually they are VERY small but one is right in the middle of what would have been my cleavage :rotfl:) in preparation for radiotherapy. Having the weekend as a break before running on Monday, got gardening to do today which is good exercise anyhow!

Well I did W3R1 today. I didn't manage to run for 3 minutes on the first run I stopped a bit short (probably 2 min 45), it was the uphill section that done me in again! I did manage to complete the second 3 minute one, just, but what I must look like afterwards :rotfl: I had jelly legs and must have seemed a bit drunk!! Now my legs ache and I am hoping it wears off before the next one. I have a feeling that this will be the week that I repeat cos I think I will collapse in a heap if I have to run for any longer than this!

Thanks Chakani, onwards and upwards as they say! Well it is run 2 tomorrow and I will see if it is any better, my only problem is that one hill I hit which unfortunately is unavoidable, we shall see how it goes!

If you know where the hill is, why not press pause before a run bit starts, march up the hill, and then start the programme again when you get to the top? That's not cheating, that's doing the full session, plus a hill :)

I now regularly run 5 miles a couple of times a week, with people who are much better and fitter than me, and we would all walk up an evil hill and save the energy, but just not count that part as being part of the run ;)

Hello again, Chakani I never read your post until after I had done my run, never thought about that! But as it was I did run up the hill :T and I am sure it is not as bad as your evil hill cos I am in a pretty flat part of the world and to even get a hill is shocking enough! Anyway the thing is I actually did run all the bits I was supposed to run :j so was really pleased with myself and in actual fact could have run a TINY bit more on one but made myself stop when laura said so, otherwise i'd have probably done myself in. I am so surprised that I actually made it and today my legs don't actually feel that bad! Bring on Run 3 tomorrow!

I seem to remember finding week 4 and 5 the hardest, but I was chatting to one of the coaches in our club at the weekend and she said week 3 is where most people give up if they don't have support, so that must be the hardest bit mentally.

You're doing so well, I am in awe of what you're achieving, I really am. Onwards and up that hill! :D

Both my Sister and mum have those tattoos as well ;) In fact my sister had to have them re-done as they made a mistake with the 1st set :rotfl:

Running didn't help me loose weight as I had lost most of my 8stone before I started, but it has helped in toning and keeping the weight off. I am sure if you continue the way you have been going, it will help you to burn off those few extra calories to help loose a little weight.
You are doing really well and I am glad that you managed to continue on with week 3 :T You are noticing the difference already and I am sure if you can mentally cope with the challenge, physically your body will adjust quickly. Just keep plodding :D
