Couch to 5k Running - Part Three

Morning everyone. Did week 1 run 2 of gateway to 8K this morning. The sun was shining I saw a baby fox cub and it was glorious. My hubby was walking the dogs so I made an early start. I warned him if he saw me I would be running really slowly because I have a heart monitor and I have to do so much exercise in each zone. The run was going well I was just about keeping in zone 2 and I was finding it quite easy.
I was on my last interval(I love intervals:)) and I saw him in the distance on the sea wall with the dogs. I had two choices
a) Carry on trying to keep in zone 2 and risk not even catching him up.
b) Pause my heart monitor and run for England.
It had to be B;) So I sprinted like there was no tomorrow. The sheep were cheering me on ,in my mind I was Paula Radcliff winning a marathon. I zoomed past and my geriatric dogs followed me. "don't worry love I shouted it's my last interval I'll be back for you in a minute"
It felt GREAT:o
I'm sure I will pay for it later.Enough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D0 -
Hi all,
Have been out tonight for a sneaky 3km run. Met hubby and kids at the park afterwards, so thought out a route while I was running to end up there. Then hubby pointed out afterwards that we live across the road from the park and I was just skiving!!! :rotfl:It was hot though. Need to up my game as it's the 5km next Weds  Am hoping the atmosphere of the evening will see me through.
Drea - cheeky suggestion - when you get a minute do you think you could add the sites for after 5kms that people have recommended onto your first post? Can see it being something that gets asked for often (not by me), so might be handy. Will send you a pm,
How is everyone doing??
No problem, will add them nowteachergirl wrote: »Morning everyone. Did week 1 run 2 of gateway to 8K this morning. The sun was shining I saw a baby fox cub and it was glorious. Oh is that all?
Trust me, I'm tempted!Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
I dare you;)
I do actually think it's easier. After this week it moves to nine minutes and then ten minutes etc. What have you got to loose? So long as we get there eventually does it matter how?
Go to go now and take the "olds" shopping:)Enough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D0 -
It is another run for me later today. Fingers crossed I manage W6 R2 this time.
But, first I have to get home from work, have dinner with OH and then he goes off to his archery, and I am off to the gym.
Trying to keep active on days off and we went for a nice walk yesterday after work - 6.5km around our area and we have discovered, that we have a canal nearby! Ok, we only moved here 14 months ago and I am not big for walking in the countryside... Anyway, we did our 10000 steps yesterday - just need to keep it up while the weather holds!
Once I feel fit enough, I might go for a run along the canal!
I checked parkrun website results, and most of them are 20 minutes or less, I will never be able to do that!!!!!!Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0
