  • Yea I think I'm definitely going to bring it down time-wise - I'm primarily a weightlifter so running's going to have to fit around that :)

  • Has any c25k graduate thought of joining a local Saturday park run for a bit of variety which might help build speed?

I have, because one of my friends is very involved in her local parkrun. Unfortunately I'd need to drive to be able to get to my local one and I don't have a car (the friend lives very far away or I'd see about going with her).

Yes, I may consider that in time too: I think my initial plan will be to consolidate the 30 min runs and then try and build up a little speed via the park runs once a week.

That's annoying. I had ruled out ours as a possibility for similar reasons, but then realised DH works every other Saturday and drives past the park at the perfect time, so I may cadge a lift and o it every other week.

I ran week 5/2 today, = 2 x 8 mins. First 8 mins felt so easy which is incredible considering how difficult the one minute runs felt at the beginning. Just shows how you do built up stamina and fitness on this programme.

I don't want to go out tonight either :(. Maybe I should just write off this week as feeling slightly tired and run down, and do it again next week. But I worry that once I've missed some I won't start again.

Could you not just do a run - even if you don't follow the plan?

I run in the mornings because I know there is no way I'd run after work, even though it means at 5am start I'm finding is easier to stick to than I know I would if I was running after a full day of work.

I've finished the plan now, I was going to just do a run.

Head's thumping now too. Not going. Instead I'm going to have yet another attempt at getting a properly early night and hopefully then I'll feel a bit more like myself again.

I often find if my mindset isn't in it it's more productive for me to miss a go than force my way through a struggle of a jog. Hope you feel better soon Cup of Chai x

I'm doing my first one this weekend!!!!

I'm doing my final week9 run tomorrow, and hoping to break the 3mile mark, 5k I've worked out as 3.1mile so I'm hoping that I would be able to do it in around 35 mins.

I have a friend that runs it every week and he has said that some people do it in aroun 17mins but others about my pace and for my first time he has said he will run at my pace. I've only ever ran on my own so I'm a bit nervous about this and my heavy breathing lol - but hopefully it will make me faster.

I've download the c25k+ nhs podcasts and had a quick listen and they seem like they would help with speed. I might also look into the 5k to 10k podcasts!!

4 months ago I couldn't run for a bus but with this and slimming world combined I'm motivated to loose more weight and improve my fitness :T
