Woohoo, onwards and upwards my dears, another week gone by and Week 4 Run 3 is done for me.

I know I've said it before but I can't actually believe I'm going up a whole 'nother level and some serious amount of progress to be made in the next three runs.

Looking at the plan for Week 5. You cannot be serious, 20 minutes? OMG

Scary isn't it when you look at it and think 'nah, no way I can do that' then you amaze yourself when you do do it! :D

It seems like such a huge leap, both physically and psychologically, to move from five to twenty minutes in the space of one week though. Still, all I can do is try and I won't beat myself up about it.

I might tweak it a bit and do week five over two weeks with an additional couple of two x ten minutes runs with a short recovery walk between, before attempting the full twenty.

  • I started C25K yesterday, I'm using the free app with my own playlist. I'm slightly confused because week 2 is too intense (tried it 2 days ago and found it exhausting), but I tried the week 1 workout yesterday and found it a little tough, sweaty and breathing hard, but was able to repeat it after a 20 minute break and my muscles feel perfectly fine.....Might be because I don't do sustained exercise, but do engage in random spurts of running (30 seconds or so), so maybe better leg muscles than lungs and heart.

I could do with dropping some weight (but main issue is my clothes have been becoming a little tight lately and I refuse to become a size 16). Hoping to be a small size 14 by beginning of September. I'm thinking of doing the week 1 workout daily until Friday and then seeing how it goes. I know you're supposed to let your body recover, but I felt completely back to normal, if a little sticky, within half an hour of the second run.

Also, I can't find a way to rewind the app, does anyone know how to do this?

Well doen for takig the plunge! I wouldn't be quite so ambitious Cabriolean, although you're maybe fitter than you think if you can manage to do two session back to back. I think we're all on a bit of a high after completing a session, so best see how you feel tomorrow. You wouldn't want to over do it and risk doing more harm than good and getting injuries.

I usually feel it the next day and need a good stretch every morning to get my legs going. I've also had a few odd niggly muscles and twinges in places I never knew were there, so you do have to take care.

Hi all, please may I join you?

I did W1 R1 yesterday after returning from holiday (was going to start before but knew I wouldn't do it on hols).

I'm doing it indoors on a treadmill as I run when my daughter naps so can't leave the house (& no motivation in the evenings!) plus I'm over 6 stone overweight so would rather no-one saw me just now! :o
