Well done Kiwi!
I did my second run of wk 1, dear me it was quite warm in the gym I thought I might melt on the treadmill and end up going round like a piece of pasta dough!
Pink - good luck for your weekend run
Have a good weekend all!2019, move forward with positivity! I am the opposite of Eyeore :rotfl:0 -

They did too! It goes to shows how much and how quickly you do grow into it and I guess that's why the program is structured the way it is. After running three minutes, you're quite relieved when you 'only' have to run for one and a half minutes. Whereas one and a half minutes the week before seemed impossible.
Keep up the good work everyone.Mortgage

just got back from week 4 run 3, I think I'm going to have to repeat this week, twice now I've cut the runs short, either through my asthma or the heat and a stitch.
I think I'll feel better about progressing onto to week 5 knowing I've nailed week 4 properly.
I really struggled with the first couple of attempts at running, I have noticed a difference and I am getting better, I am able to run 5 mins now.
I still can't say I'm enjoying it but it's the most convenient and cheaper ways to exercise and loose a bit of flab and I am proud of myself for doing it!0 -
Well done bunny, no harm in redoing weeks :j
We decided to run tonight instead of tomorrow' week 6 run two done. That was the last run with a walk
Just 25 minutes of running now:cool:
I'd say Roll on Sunday but I don't mean it :rotfl:Life is short, smile while you still have teeth0 -
Hi all
I am going to start this program on wednesday, I might only be able to run once or twice a week over the school hols but will try my best. I haven't read the whole thread but did notice the link on the first post is not valid. What plan does everyone follow? I might do the NHS one but are there any others which I might prefer?
Thanks0 -
Hi
We are doing the NHS one, even at twice a week it will be very good for you.
Let us know how you get on:)
Anyone else wanting to join in? Come on, you know you want toLife is short, smile while you still have teeth0 -
I'm thinking of going for a run now, I've progressed to outside and run for about 18/20 minutes with one walk stop (includes inclines) .... but I can't get motivated, should I go?Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End

Yes just go - I did, I just got back, feeling really chuffed with myself
DS is at his dads tonight and there is nothing on tele till later so I got changed and went. I did the NHS one and liked the fact you do not have to keep looking at a watch, although i'm sure the minutes got longer towards the end! It was tough but really pleased I kept going and ran on all the bits I was suppose to. I will go again tomorrow, I know I should rest a day but ds will still be with his dad. Life gets in the way, its not always possible to rest a day in-between and I want to try to keep to three times a week if I can.0 -
Thanks for your reply iammumtoone, I went and did my run and I feel fantastic, knocked about 45 mins off my pb. I started running outside about 2 weeks ago and used to stop about 6/7 times, I stopped once tonight and it wasn't even a proper stop, just a walk.
Thanks again xThrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End

Well done. Unfortunately I have no choice I don't have a treadmill (and can't afford the gym) so have to run outside however I live in Norfolk so no hills for me at allI am also lucky to live 3 mins walk from a park so can run on grass, there was a cricket match on last night when I went out so I tried to keep to the areas where none of the spectators would be able to see me. Will have to to be very brave on Weds though DS is at a sports club, I have to stay with him due to his age but there is a running track nearby which I will be able to use  and still see him.
