Nargle, I think you can start with any of the Discworld books, they all stand alone as amazing books, but the first is 'The Colour Of Magic'. I once wasted a whole afternoon of my life browsing Terry Pratchett forums, and one of the threads was a discussion on which one to read first. There was no agreement though, everyone has their own preference.
Off to bed with one of my favourites now - look what you've started Rentawitch!! Might read them all in order, reckon it might keep me entertained til after the world cupTrying to jump back onto the moneysaving wagon .... :cool:0 -
A LSD for me today - and it was all going so well!
Got cornered for £2 for a collection for our uni tutor and then as the NSD was broken spent £1.70 on a bottle of pop and a Twix.:mad:
Tomorrow...................... (I say that every day!)0 -
Hi everyone - sorry I haven't been updating - been trying to keep up with GC, Flying and NSD's and decorate/clean my new house at the same time ... yikes!! Amazingly (considering the house move) I have had 2 more NSD's since I last posted (so 3/10) so hoping that I will be able to make it this month and up the ante in July, when we will (hopefully) be settled in our beautifully decorated new home!
Hugs to those that need them (((hugs)))Part time GCer, NSDer, Comper and (Bad)FlyladyA big shot is just a little shot that kept shooting ...0 -

So not a nsd today. Going for one tomorrow and Saturday as I'm going up town on Friday... I got a special on Wahanda of a facial, pedi, massage and hair treatment all for £28 so I'm going up to Regent St to the spa to take advantage of that deal - I'm worth it.
Declaring today as NSD no 6!! Quite amazing really...will have to spend tomorrow or Friday.
Still talking about how to spend the tax-refund...could be we actually get the falling-down lean-to at the back door replaced...only been waiting 15 years for it!! Will pay off some of the cc too, and get a treat as well I suppose...still pondering though. Never thought it would be so hard to spend money!!! :rotfl:
Have a day off work tomorrow, so will be sorting out things for the car-boot we're going to on Sunday. It's in our village, so nice and easy for us to get to. Perhaps I will pick up an NSD too, you never know!

DS got where he was going safely, only another 3 months of worry now!!!
Weather is orrible here and have a long drive, so if I can make it on the liquid gold already in the tank, take my client out on the company CC, me and the aliens and Hubert get another NSD!!! (its getting a bit crowded in the car these days, and I have to keep stopping to let Hubert go...................)
Onward and upward
its starting to feel like a soap opera ........Dopey's Day Out in the Wrong Trousers with assorted livestock.......wanders off muttering.........
Might write to Nick Park, pdd, and see if he'd like to take that plot up - you could be the next Wallace!!:rotfl:The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time

Ahh, thanks moneypenny, I have a very organised brain, think that's the secret
As for the cat, well I'd not call the person who did it a human being...
Me neither, actually, but calling "it" an animal is unfair to animals - the only animal who deliberately sets out to hurt, kill or injure another for pleasure is the human - makes you proud sometimes, doesn't it?:mad:
Sorry everyone, rant over:o:oThe time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time

Reporting NSD number 7 today (yesterday) Spoon
Update of the Lodgers: lady has been release from hospital and is back next door so daughter came round to ours and took the dogs back to her - I am uneasy about the lady looking after herself never mind the dogs as less than 24 hours ago she was trying to top herself with pills. Her daughter has asked me to keep an eye on her if I can, which I promised to do, but to be honest I would be keping an eye out for the dogs sake anyway
The Lodgers actually settled down lovely last night and slipped into our routine easily - at times you would not know they were there! P.S. I do know that they are called Lhasa Apso but I call them Lapso Apso - I always have
Pic of Lodgers with our youngest dog Billy (who is still looking for them round the house) below:

Hi lovely NSD gang :A
Half way through another week, where’s the time going? It will soon be time for our end of month outing to Stonehenge.;) When are we going to Leeds for our chav night out, BDINI?;)
Big hug from all of us to little Jinx moneypenny, poor little pud, I know exactly what I would like to do with that airgun and it certainly would not be a pretty sight,:mad:
Sorry, rant over:o. Lots of NSDs rolling in again today, you’re all after the little pony now, I can see!:rotfl:
Welcome back to:
kezlou: :wave:hi and welcome back. Yes, of course you can join us again, but you’re not allowed to use that “f” word on here:rotfl: Signing you up for 20 now, keep posting, you’ll get loads of inspiration (and hopefully a few laughs) here as well.
:jWell done for no 5 - great start for you!
Well done to all the following:
:janonymoose: well one for no 3 - you’re on a roll now, keep going!:)
:jjintyb: well done for no 5, you’re doing great this month.
Hope you enjoyed your lunch out today and, yes, you’re definitely right about patterns with the NSDs, sometimes I get loads to add on, sometimes very few - we must all be psychically linked or something:rotfl:....
:jrentawitch: well done for no 3 - you’re doing great for a first month - keep going!
Come on now, you’ve started something with your Discworld event, what are you going as and where/when?
:jteenyweenyspender: well done for no 6 - you’ve having a brilliant month.
Enjoy your few days off.:)
:jBigMumma: yayayyayayay - well done for no 7 - brilliant!! (love the smiley):T
:jelfen: well done for no 6 - you’re doing really well this month - keep going!
And well done for the running - good day all round then!:)
:jdebtbegone: well done for no 7 - you’re nearly halfway there now - brilliant!:)
:jMainyasha: well done for getting to no 3 - you’re doing great for a first month - brilliant!
Yes, staying in control feels great, I think everyone on here would agree with that.;)
:jTMVen: well done for no 7, nearly halfway now, that’s brilliant!
Re the benefits system - it’s confusing to put off people from applying:mad:......
And poor bunnie, I’ve done similar with birds, a mole, mice, a vole and various other assorted waifs and strays my lovely cat brought me as presents:eek:......
:jslowlyfading: well done for no 7 - you’re having a great month - that’s brilliant!:)
:jfranby64: well done for no 2, well and truly on the road now - brilliant!
And well done again for thinking about DD1s cooking class tomorrow - very organised there!;)
:jpure dead dopey: fingers crossed you don’t need to buy liquid gold today and another NSD will be yours. One closer to the blue pony and you can put him in the back of your car as well (never mind the dancing banana and penguin):rotfl:
Yay and you did it, well done for no 5.... poor aliens and Hubert being in the car all day:(...
:jcannp123165: well done for getting to no 6 - you’re having a great month - that’s brilliant!
:jLa escocesa: well done for no 3 - great start for you’re first month - thats brilliant!
Glad you’re enjoying the challenge;)
:jBDINI: well done for no 5 - and for resisting the sandwich van. It’s all too easy to give into the temptation of a ready made sandwich even when you’ve brought your own, especially when everyone else is tucking in - so that’s great.
I’m sure the pony will be yours this month with that kind of determination;)..
:jGeebee: hi, no need to apologise for not updating, hope everything’s OK for you?
Well done for no 3 - great start to your first challenge and only 2 more to get - I think you’re going to be the first to the pony award!:)
:jfi76: well done for no 2 - you’re nearly halfway there now - that’s brilliant!
NSDs are all about being organised and sometimes it takes a month or so to get into the pattern of doing that.:)
:jpipersky: hi and welcome back, no need to apologise, you’ve clearly got a lot on with new house and the rest. Well done for getting to no 3, you’re doing brilliantly under the circumstances - keep going!:)
:jKeiss 21: well done for no 6 - you’re having a brilliant month, lots of NSDs, a tax refund, what more could you wish for??
Spending money isn’t hard, spending it wisely, however, is... that’s the difference and probably why it’s taking you some time to decide how to spend your windfall:)....
:jDorastar: well done for no 3 - brilliant! And glad you’re please with both the new top and the compliments today, it all helps boost the morale!:)
:j3Dogs: well done for no 7, you’re having a great month - brilliant!
Glad your neighbour is OK and back home again, but it does seem a bit soon really, hope she’s OK. The dogs are cute, in fact they’re really cute - almost as cute as your Billy.. lovely pic:T
And hello to everyone else:
cw18: hope the next 8 pints lasts a bit longer than the last.... oooh 90p/day for the rest of the month is going to be interesting - good luck!
Hope you’re OK to go back to work tomorrow. How’s the decluttering project going?;)
Looloo: hopefully you’re all smooth and glistening tonight - and not too painful either, fingers crossed:)..
boultdj: I’m sure you’ll enjoy the fruit even more because you didn’t pay for it... lovely OH to buy it all. Hope the rest of the shopping wasn’t too painful:)
Herby: you need to be a bit kinder to yourself for a while, after last week. It’s not the slippery slope - we won’t let you go back down that one, don’t worry - it’s just a minor diversion, you’ll get back on track when you’re ready to do it again.
dmb: oh dear, sorry about the parking meter today:(, but well done for thinking about the dentists bill this time and not putting it on the credit card - that’s the start of change!:)
katenut: well done to DH for the diet....
And you’re right, that’s an infallible formula;) .....
Nargle: spicy shepherds pie sounds good, might give it a try. Fingers crossed for NSD for you tomorrow and, yes, the NSD-ers are a lovely bunch, you’re right there:)
AllieBallie: disgraceful price for parking at the hospital - bloomin’ cheek!
Good for you for thinking ahead for next month, but nothing stopping you from increasing your target for this month if you want to have a go;)..
rachelmk: don’t beat yourself up, you’ve had 2 already and there are plenty more days left to get your remaining ones.... you’ll get there:)
Well I've somehow managed another one today as well, so I'm now at no 8 - not quite sure how I've managed that but yipppeeeee anyway:j:j:j:j. Tomorrow is going to be a very serious spend day to make up for the rest, oh dear...
On that happy note, off to do the front page update (and update my signature which is now somewhat beind me), so see you all tomorrow.
'night
