:jWELCOME TO THE JUNE NSD CHALLENGE:j
Wimbledon and strawberries; Ascot and posh hats; Lords and ladies....all signs of June finally settling over Britain. And then rain stops play!
A bit like our NSD Challenge if you think about it. There are so many things we would rather do with our days than have to spend money on things we don’t need, so our happy band have decided to join forces to do battle with the twin evils of Dosh and the retailers who insist on tempting us.We are seriously committed to saving money, but nobody said it can't be done with a smile on your face so we organise riotous nights out and gatecrash any function going - all without leaving the comfort of our own imaginations!
On a slightly more serious note, we are here to help each other avoid spending for the number of days we feel we can manage in order to take back some control over our hard-earned money. What you class as a 'spend' is entirely your choice; some people will try to shop on the days DD/SO etc are paid, whilst others will not include essentials such as rent.
It’s amazing how inventive you get when you’re determined NOT to spend - from weird menu ingredients to surprising DIY solutions-- but you know what? 99% of the time those wacky ideas work.
Have a look at our May thread (link below) to see what a friendly (and slightly insane) bunch we are. New recruits are joining up all the time - everyone is welcome so please don’t be shy, come and join us.
:)Good luck everyone:)
Here are some threads to help keep us on the straight and narrow, if you know of others, please post. Many of the lunch box ideas are aimed toward children but could easily be adapted for adults and would be great for picnics/BBQs as summer is on its way.

Put me down for 14 please Spoon, many thanks to your good self for keeping track of all this and keeping us motivated and to everyone else for the enthusiasm and support. I've already clocked up 3 NSD's :j I decided to make do with what was in the fridge and freezer and start the diet tomorrow after we've been shopping. Not that I've been norty have eaten sensibly, just didn't go with the diet list. I figured that I'd menu planned already for this week and it was relatively healthy so may as well stick with that and keep my purse closed. DH is beginning to regret promising me £5 for every NSD I clock up between now and my hols lol! To my reckoning that's 9 in total since I joined in May so he already owes me £45 and I have the NSD bug now so it's gonna cost him a fortune :rotfl:
Good luck everyone and here's to loads of NSD's this month for us all
