LOL I demand sunshine too, but not sure we'll get it unless we move to a nice quiet tropical island somewhere... come to think of it, that might be a good idea. Less shops, if we're thirsty or hungry grab something off a nearby tree.... zzzzzzzz excuse me whilst I daydream0 -

Hello, can I join you all please? My spending has increased a lot recently, and I need to get it under control again. We have a lot on this month, but I'd like to go for 10 NSDs please. I'm looking forward to it, and think today could well be my first :j"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Not a NSD for me today unfortunately after doing so well on the bank holiday weekend (2 NSDs out of 3).
Haven't spent much though-
£1 on bargain toothpaste in Pound shop
£1.99 on padded envelopes
49p on big envelope
£1 on 4 cans of Diet Pepsi in Farmfoods
So ....... £4.48 total
About £8 postage of ebay items but I'm not counting that as the money for that is paid to me (may even be a little bit up on postage).
Tomorrow should be a NSD as I can't think of anything I need and I'm off work so not going far.0 -

Trust me it does get easier & so addictive once you start, i found it really helpful to keep a spending diary in my first month, it showed me where i could have done things all on one day to let me have NSD's on other days, & also where my spending was unnecessary, or out of habit or emotion. Once i knew these things i could start tackling the issues behind the spending, with the help of the fabby posters here, & hey presto my NSD's increased dramatically!!!
Now i hate spending & ruining an NSD & the amount of unwanted food & junk entering my house is much lower :j
Good luck & make sure you shout up when you are struggling so we can all impart [STRIKE]*large amounts of waffle*[/STRIKE] words of wisdom!
QUICK GUIDE FOR NSDING.
1. We don't use the F-word *glances knowingly toward a certain LK (see below)* & it is not a race. There is a number we aim for & that is all it is--celebrate when you get there & just keep trying when you don't.
2. Think long & hard about what YOU want to include or exclude from qualifying spends. It is YOUR Challenge, so if you want to count in the cat's flea powder but leave out the milkman, that's up to you.
3. Anything you think we can help you with, shout out! Most of us returnees have come up against a quandary very similar to whatever you're experiencing & we are more than willing share our solutions.
Think that's it really..keep popping in if you can as some good, imaginative ideas soon gets lost in the general support. Most of all--Enjoy!AllieBallie wrote: »....let's do this!*starts brass band behind your band wagon!*....Spoon - that looks a bit like a contract I've been written into there!!!! Quite concerned what i have actually signed myself up for....See my bit above your bit, where I responded to BDINI's bit
Hope you're right BDINI (on the it gets easier bit!) I'm going to do a spending diary though I need to find a notebook somewhere in the house as i think it defeats the purpose of the exercise if i buy one!As for a diary, some folk have used their mobiles--it looks like you're sending a text so no-one is any the wiser..just a suggestion.
....failed.... ....Repeat after me Class..We don't do F! We don't do F! We don't do F!
I am so anti that particular sentiment because the very fact you have taken note of days you haven't spent, is an achievement to be acknowledgedMany folk say it is the silly £1 here or two quid there that prevents an nsd..just see how many we collectively managed last month alone & then turn that into pound coins. We could have booked Fat Boy Slim to play exclusively for us for all of our Brighton week-end for that :rotfl:

Please can I join in again? I really want to try for the 15 again this month. I have lost it a bit over the last couple of months and want to get back on track
Thanks for the wonderful thread and advice, have picked up in myself just reading it today. These new shifts are really tiring me out and I think I am spending more at the end of a long day so along with NSDs I am going to try to look after myself a bit better this month too
