Gentle Jump into June? Did we mention NOT spending...(well this is the NSD challenge)

Been to the shops this morning - so not an NSD today (but I already knew it wouldn't be due to the "milk situation")
Picked up milk (essential today), lettuce, cucumber and tomatoes (to go with omelette on Monday, as I have some eggs need using up), spread (which I shouldn't really need before I need milk again on Friday, but not risking losing an NSD) and some fruit (bananas, satsumas and apples). I'm not a huge fruit eater, but know that I need to improve my F&V count (most days don't get more than 2, and a really good day is still only 4), so decided to pick some up -- now all I have to do is make myself actually eat it
That's another £8.49 of my grocery budget spent, so I'm now down to £24.76 for the remaining 25 days of June  Managing on less than £1/day is going to be a bit of a challenge in itself me thinks..........Cheryl0 -
Have done the grocery shop but that doesn't count for me as its budgeted for.
I have also bought hayfever eye drops (£4.99) from the chemist as I can't see! Don't know whether to count these or not as they are essential - if I don't its going to be a NSD. Hmmmm..........the dilemma. What do you think?0 -

Hi rachel.. essential I would say, definitely... I think you deserve an NSD anyway if you're suffering that badly from hayfever - awful... Hope the drops start working quickly..
cw - I use masking tape as well in my freezer - peels off like a dream when required but stays put when it has to:):)

moneypenny2k wrote: »BTW Herby how do you get 5 nsd in june when it was only the 4th yesterday???
Hi moneypenny, my month goes from the 28th - 27th so I started my June GC and NSD's when my monthly budget began, not cheating honestDH gets paid on the 28th of the month so I go off pay packet month not calendar month. I've had 9 days so far to get the 5, hoping for no 6 today but may be going to town later so we'll see.
Thanks for the jumbo oats tip will try them when I next go shopping, been using scottish porridge oats, not sure how different the two are? As it turned out DH like the Chilli Boloridge, and instead of feeding us both once it made enough for the freezer so the extra oats made extra portions and we're getting lovely extra soluble fibre and good for the heart goodness. Sshhhh I told DH I did it on purpose for health reasons. Then later fessed up about having been adding oats to chilli, bolo, cottage pie etc for ages and he said he'd never noticed!
Herby x

Hello All
NSD's are my 2010 new years resolution and after failing resolutely on nearly every month so far, i am poking my head up to start declaring here, in the hope i finally get the hang of this.
Declaring 2 NSD's this month so far - one for yesterday and one for today. OH is ill and we are spending nothing today:D. A huge step forward for a Saturday, as OH likes to "go to the shops" at the weekend - which plays havoc with the grocery bill and the NSD's.
Have a nice weekend all

Thank you! Thought so! I get hayfever so badly that I have to take hardcore prescription only antihistamines, eye drops and a spray thing up my nose!
I used to have steroid injections but have had 14 doses over the years and the doctors and hospitals refuse to give me anymore. Not good for the bones!
This is the 30th year I've had hayfever for - since a child - and unless you get it I don't think you can appreciate how miserable it makes you. No sleep, manky eyes, sore throat and nose and generally grumpy!
Everyone says that I'll grow out of it - think I'll be about 95 by the time I do! (I'm 38 now:p). Rant over!
Will do my best not to spend anything further - no plans to go out and I think I have everything I need.0 -

Hi,
A bit late starting, owing to car nightmare number 3005, and also things running out so needing to buy. Was so v tight I bought Tesco value baby bath instead of bubble bath as it is 22p smells quite nice, and if they trust it to be used on babies, then it should be ok for my oh so sensitive skin.
Now going to photograph my 87 items for ebay. By my reckoning, if I get what I want for it all it should come to £2885, which would clear my £300 overdraft (one more debt to clear and close), and also most of my loan bar £300, then just to crack on with those two credit cards. I worked out if I sold everything I could clear 6k, but I wouldn't so much as have a pair of earrings left, so I need to take it slowly.
M&S £2878.22/ Natwest £3526/ Loan £405/ [STRIKE]Sofa £0[/STRIKE]/ [STRIKE]Ring £0[/STRIKE]/
Savings £12.04 NSD 3/10 :cool:Total £6915.88
