Gentle Jump into June? Did we mention NOT spending...(well this is the NSD challenge)

Didn't buy tissues, decided to snot on my sleeve or use kitchen roll and clocked up another NSD taking my total to a massive 5
, it's all going so well, it can't be this easy...
Just had a doh moment, decided to add some porridge oats to the chilli bolognese we're having for tea and the bag tipped out about twice as much as I needed, so we're having chilli boloridge, some salad and mozzarella on top and I'm hoping DH won't notice, could be worse I guess. Have a good night & weekend everyone!
Herby xNSD Challenge 2010:Jul 12/12; Jun 21/14 :T; May : 6/6
GC 2010: Jul £134.03/£150.00 ; Jun £278.86/£275.00 ; May £276.13/£280.00 :T0 -
NSD #3 for me today :T
Will have to spend tomorrow though - more milk needed  Bought 8 pints on Monday which is almost totally gone, but can't blame DS for all of it as I've had flavoured hot oats several morning this week (the only thing I use it for), so about a pint of it was my useage
Have redone the stock-take on one of my freezers (while shoe-horning in the bread from Wednesday night), and started a meal plan for the rest of the month based on what's in there. Want to re-do the other freezer tonight and finish off the meal plan (though it will be subect to change, especially at weekends as I don't know yet when I'll have to leave a 'meal for one' for DS while I'm off at OH's), with as little shopping as possible needed from the shops to 'finish off' the meals.
If I want to get my grocery budget back on track for the end of June (which I'd love to do), then I have a miserly £35 left to be spent in shops or shifted over to my stock-take budget (by using up stuff I had in at New Year). I can see £10-£15 of that being needed for milk as well, so that drops me to just £20-£25 for essential buys/old stock use up  However, this does mean that I may have a good chance of smashing my NSD target again this month :T
I pulled a turkey joint out of the freezer for yesterday's tea (bought late Dec, and worked out at £1.42 after cutting my large Whoopsied joint into 3 before freezing), so we had roast turkey. Used up more of it in a risotto for tea tonight - and DS wasn't impressed one little bit with having turkey two days on the trot, so it looks like what's left is mine all mine for using in sandwiches over the weekend(I had turkey butties for my lunch today, but I love the stuff)
ETA: Freezer stocktake finished - and the situation is slightly worse than I thought in terms of remaining grocery budget !! Discovered I've used a few bits that were 'stock piles at New Year' without logging them in my spreadsheet, so I actually have £34 left for the rest of the month  Now I just need to meal plan using as little from the New Year stock pile as I canCheryl0 -
Well, definitely not a NSD for me but it could have been worse.
Both OH and I are bored and thought about going to the cinema but we normally spend £20 between us on tickets, pop, sweets etc.
After faffing about and deciding there was nothing much we really wanted to see we are staying in and to compromise we are watching a DVD with £4 worth of pop and sweets from the corner shop instead (bought by me!)
Tomorrow is food shopping day but that's budgeted for (in cash) and so is the petrol that needs putting in. Apart from those I'm hoping for a NSD - i.e no extra bits (I don't count the necessary weekly expenses).0 -

Better late than never so I am posting to report NSD number 3 from yesterday Spoon - I did my weekly shopping today but tomorrow should be one of my planned NSD's
My rules for NSD's, by the way, are that I ignore my regular bank payments - but include every other penny I spend no matter what it is for - and hubbie is doing it with me so his spends count for me tooMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Herbaholic wrote: »Hi moneypenny, I was feeling a little better and trying to get back to business, then the postman came with a card addressed to me and DH, it was a deepest sympathy card from the vet staff, it both touched me as never had that happen before from any vet and made me weep buckets cos I'm missing Pye. I've cried so much the past few days we've run out of tissues  So I may have to relinquish the NSD I've achieved so far to buy some more.
Has anyone else found that they're okay when they loose their little buddy if they don't verbally talk about him/her to others or is it just me? I can think and I can type thoughts about him, but as soon as I begin talking about him I start crying again. It'll get better I know, I can't help being me but I hate being irrational and teary.
Going to go and try and meal plan for this coming week, aiming for 4 NSD's this week so want to make sure I have everything in before I go shopping. Thanks for the support peeps it's nice to know others understand, much appreciated.

Hi Herby, the same thing happened to me when I had my little boy put to sleep. I just managed to stop crying and our brilliant vet sent me a sympathy card with a lovely poem in it which, of course, started me off again. (I've started again now just thinking about it). It's all part of the grieving process as is feeling upset trying to talk so someone about what happened. If you need to cry, just do it, better out than in definitely, it will help you more in the long run.
Take care and don't forget to spoil yourself
