You may as well take their kind offer.
At least you will save £70, which is much better than nothing, plus you will have a further £80 credit which may be worth more than another 2 free months if they make you a retention offer. If they don't give you a retention offer you can still retain the use of the phone free for a further 2 months.
You can't expect to get the £360 paid to you by 3. Of course they won't be giving anyone any cash!0 -

What if we change tarrif, as this would effectively break our side of the contract? Will they consider things based on what we have already claimed, only, or will they assume that we would have sent in all paperwork throughout the full 12/18 month contract?
Did you discuss any of these questions, and if so, then what answers were you given?
Thanks...
There is no requirement to continue sending your bills to Simply3G (see email copy below). I don't know the answers for your other questions.
Customers will probably get much less than half the cashback that is due to them.
I have reproduced the email which was sent to known customers. Any customer that has not received this email should contact Meston Reid & Co.
Dear customer
Thank you for your communication with regard to Simply Communications UK Limited trading as "Simply3G".
Meston Reid & Co were approached for financial/insolvency advice by the sole director of Simply3G because the company was experiencing difficulties. Following a review of the overall position Simply3G was advised to cease trading at the earliest opportunity. The company is insolvent. In order to notify as many customers of this as quickly as possible a message was placed on the Simply3G website.
Michael J M Reid is a licensed insolvency practitioner and partner at Meston Reid & Co. He has agreed to act as interim liquidator and his appointment is anticipated over the next 14 days following which all known creditors will be notified, in writing. Due to the number of customers it would be appreciated if you could remain patient whilst initial queries are answered.
In order to help you meantime, I can provide the following information:- No further payments will be issued to customers under the terms of your agreement with Simply3G
- In order to avoid your mobile contract being terminated, you should continue to make payment to your network provider i.e. Three, T-Mobile, O2 etc. Your mobile contract is with the provider and not Simply3G.
- The accounting details that I have suggest that you will not receive full payment from Simply3G. Indeed, there may be no payment at all. The level of any dividend depends upon the assets realised for the liquidated estate less all costs of the liquidation process. All creditors will be kept informed as matters progress.
- Upon the appointment of interim liquidator a claim form will be sent to you which you should return to this office providing details of all money due to you by Simply3G. There is no requirement to continue sending your bills to Simply3G.
Only urgent matters will be dealt with individually.

phoned to accecpt the £150 credit only to be told I had to extend my contract by 6 months (I was never told this before) which will cost me £175 so if I take the offer I will be down another £25 on top of the £360 ive lost already.
they will also not let me cancel my contract 2 months early. I will never be using three again!0 -
I wrote to the Executive Office of 3. I received a letter explaining there's nothing they could do, so I rang them (quoting the reference number on the letter - you can't speak to anyone in the Executive Office at 3 without this reference number!). After a good 15 minutes of absolute trashy woffle as to why 3 can't help, I was suddenly offered £50 against my account.
Unfortunately my 3 contract expired last month and i moved to O2, so 3 has agreed to hold the £50 credit for when i return to 3 in 11 months time. At least this way I get £50 back (I am owed £183 from simply 3G).
I'm expecting absolutely nothing from the liquidators of simply 3G so this way, £50 is better than nothing!0 -

I have finally had a reply to my complaint to Trading Standards about their apparent lack of input.
The reply is very lengthy and in part refers to a few points I made in terms of Simply 3g using two trading names and different addresses in England and Scotland.
My main complaint in respect of TS was that TS appeared to be doing very little to get answers for customers nor did they appear to be doing anything other than 'noting' there was a problem. The silence from Simply3g was bad enough - the silence from TS made it worse and many people - believing that the company were still trading, because neither they nor TS said otherwise - then decided to start down the MCOL route.
On this point they have apologised for leading me to believe that they were doing nothing. The reply goes on to say that they cannot however give details of what they were doing!
They do however say that they did give advice to Simply 3g and were considering more formal civil legal action when the company then told them they were going into administration.0 -

PS Stick at the driving....you will get there....Never argue with an idiot. They bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.0 -
Buy a lottery ticket........at least if that doesn't work out it will only cost a pound:beer: Good luck:cool:

thanks for the advice. by the way can anyone tell me something about this contract i got , its been 6 months can i downgrade or upgrade from 3.I am paying 35 a month now.
thanks.:beer::T:j:mad::p:D;):cool::eek::rotfl::A this are the signs of a lunatic.0 -
cs - depends on the length of your ctt. Most of 3's now won't let you downgrade until a month or two before the end. Call cust. services and ask them, they will tell you one way or the other.........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
3 has made an "offer" of £150 with the condition that I extend the contract.
* For a 12 month contract: 6 months free then £25 per month.
* For a 18 month contract: 10 months free then £15 per month.
I asked how Simply3G could get away with this kind of behaviour. I asked about the money that I have already lost on the current contract, where even the insolvency senior thinks we will get much less than 50% cashback. I asked why no one is doing anything to help the customers.
I also mentioned that there are companies (see other messages in this thread) that have given some proportion of cashback WITHOUT any obligation to extend the contract for another year.
Unfortunately, there was no answer to any of my questions.
So I said "we'll think about it".
