To be honest cashback deals like that have always been dodgy, they have been on watchdog numerous times, i wouldnt touch one with a stick, and its not 3,s problem.
Its bad luck for you, but you live and learn im afraid.
3 are doing the mix and match 1100 for £20 the next few days, plus £80 quidco and £30 referal, works out at £13.88 a month. Bargain.0 -
finally 3 have sorted mine so i have got a brand new phone for £5 a month contract - took over 100 emails, letters and calls tho - BE PERSISTANT0

Dear all
I've got 2 vodafone contracts (£35) a month via everyone's favourite company simply3g.
For weeks now I have been trying to contact Vodafone to discuss a mutually supportive outcome to my cashback issues - but all I get is false promises that a manager will contact me to discuss. To date 8 promises and no contact. I have been advised that there's a special team at vodafone dealing with theses issues - I have been advised there is a waiting time to speak to them, but this has varied from 2,1,4 and 9 weeks. 2 emails have been forwarded to the manager of this team without any contact (second e-mail sent to him by customer services today".
Finally, got really fed up and e-mailed 'arun.sarin@vodafone.com' (Chief Exec) to establish if this is vodafone standards of customer care!! Rec'd a "relayed to" message but no read receipt!
Are there any Vodafone customers who have been contacted by this team - what was the outcome? Is there anything we can do as consumers to highlight the lack of support offered by the big companies? What about all those affected contacting Watchdog?? The companies may be able to say that it was Simply 3g who sold us the contract but I contacted Vodafone in December to advise that Simply3G were not honouring agreements yet they were still allowing them to sell contracts - may be legal but how about ethical?
Any replies gratefully rec'd
Best wishes the nugget0 -
Well-worn path. Read the thread on Mobile Affiliates and before that debacle Mobile Connections. Don't bother with Watchdog or the other agencies unless you like extreme frustration and wasting time.0

I was contacted by Vodaphone -eventually.
I managed to get my monthly payment down to £17.50
They told me they are swamped with people not just from Simply3g but other companies that have gone bust.0 -

Business & Ethics have differing objectives, and generally their overlap is relatively small. Companies will follow Ethics only if it is in their Business interest to do so. If Ethics has an adverse impact on Business then Ethics will be dropped. Companies have to look after their shareholders, customers, employees, etc. Ethics comes a long way down the list.

Hi
Yes I have also got 2 Vodafone contracts. I have sent two emails to vodafone and basically they don't give a dame.0 -
Well, had a nice friendly call back from 3 earlier, in response to my enquiry about loss of cashback from s3g.
I have 2 ctts via s3g, one £20 talker(500+100), 18 mths with £280 cb., the other £15 a month mix'n'match 300, 18 mths with £90 cb.
Got offers on both. First one, £150 credit on bill with 6 mth extension to ctt, so clawback of £30 back over life of extended ctt. Second one, £90 credit on bill with 6 mth extension. No clawback on second one, but breaking even for extra 6 month's less hassle.
I took these as they will extend the trouble-free period. I believe, as they were both "goodwill" gestures, that they are without predjudice to any claim as a creditor of s3g in case there is any payout from the liquidators. This is not likely, I don't think, but worth filling in the forms.
For the record, I was pleasant when I called 3, and they were very understanding. Maybe they are beginning to mellow a bit for customers caught out by retailers going under......
hope this helps someone...........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
I would have to extend the contract to 18 months to do that. Don't really fancy that0
