  • Dear all,

Simply 3G are clearly a very slippery company! I phoned the bailiffs office this morning and they confirmed that despite a number of warrant of execution orders against Simply Communications /3G, they have yet to find anybody at the Bagshot House, Surrey address that can be called to account. As stated before, Royal Mail have confirmed that there is no redirection service in operation at that address, so if somebody is signing for their mail, it must be somebody else who works at Bagshot House. Does anybody have any clear evidence that Simply 3G are still trading (other than the website still being online)?

I strongly recommend that nobody waste any more money on MCOL fees until somebody can find an address where assets for Simply Communications /3G can be found (my £85 court /bailiff fees have resulted in nothing so far).

Instead why don’t we now turn our attention on taking them down and exposing the people responsible. I propose:

    1. We find and publish the names of the company directors on this blog

    2. If possible these directors are called to court for questioning

    3. If there is any clear evidence of trading that the police who serve Bagshot, Surrey be informed that the company is still trading despite failure to pay court warrants of execution,

    4. That we all, individually, contact web comparison engines like moneysupermarket.com and inform them of Simply’s criminal activity and that they remove this company from their web search results so that no other people are ripped off.

    5. That we each do everything we can to find an address where Simply 3Gs assets can be found.

Anybody else have any other good ideas?
  • I,m sorry if this has been mentioned before but why is everyone trying to contact them at bagshot house when their address is now at :-

Again i,m sorry if this has been mentioned but i thought i might help
  • There's no one at the Aberdeen address either:

Royal Mail's Track & trace system shows they tried to deliver the letter this morning but were unable to. I tried to click on the option on the RM website to arrange a redelivery atempt but then the website kept crashing so I phoned RM.

They looked up my item and there was a note saying that the postman was told the people at the address had 'gone away'.

So it looks like Simply 3g have either already gone bust or are simply refusing ALL mail.

    It HAS been mentioned.

There is no one at the address and has not been since the beginning of December according to Aberdeen TS.

The cashbacks come from Simply communications UK Ltd (according yo my contract) who are trading as Simply3g.

On recently did the Aberdeen address get put onto the website.
  • Going back to the MCOL procedure - if it says the claim has been issued - does this mean just issued from MCOL or actually received by the defendant?

The biggest crime here is that trading standards insist on giving advice to the likes of us, when what they should be doing, is taking action against the company.

    Indeed this is very true.

In the continuing absence of any reason being given by TS as to why they are only 'noting' this and not assisting us - I have decided to launch a formal complaint against them!

Unsurprisingly they have not even replied - yet. I have tried to make them aware of this thread to show how many people are affected.

Googling complaints and TS just shows how to use them to make a complaint against a company.

Or should it go through the local Council?

It's really something when even TS don't give a sh*t!

They only tell you the date it was issued (ie. posted off to the address you gave them).

They cannot confirm receipt by the defendant as they use ordinary mail but it is assumed to have been served on the defendant 5 days after the issue date.
  • Hi There,

    I have some queries here.

    1. Simply3G is a registered company under TS, what action TS suppose to do to solve this issue?
    2. Can we complain this directly to Police?
    3. Can we complain to any other department like (watchdog/ofcom...)
    4. Company house tells, the Bagshot address is still active for Simply 3G, but why Bailiff action failed?
    5. Royal mail delivers properly to that address, who was the recipient, can we talk to Royal Mail?

To hopefully answer some of the above -

    1. The company is actually called Simply Communications UK Ltd trading as Simply 3g. You must quote this word for word on Court proceedings. As to exactly what action TS should be taking - who knows? But as another poster very aptly said a few pages back - 'they are quick enough to prosecute a bloke for selling apples by the pound'. On that basis and as there are a great many of us affected this does have a lot of public interest - not just for us - but for everyone who has one of these cashback deals which has the potential to go wrong. Companies that have gone bust - well there's not much they can do. But companies that appear to still be trading like this one is - TS should be doorstepping them until they get answers and perhaps showing consumers they are trying to help.

    2. This is a civil matter so on the face of it there is nothing for the police who will only look at criminal matters. However - without TS getting off their backsides - who is to say there have not been offences of a criminal matter as well i.e fraud?

    3. I have complained till I am blue in the face to Companies House about the now incorrect listing of Simply Communications UK Ltd being at the Aberdeen address. Unfortunately it is down to the SCUKLtd to tell them!! So yet another toothless authority with no interest in information being correct (despite data protection law) and despite this information being provided via another equally disinterested authority - TS in Aberdeen. There are no doubt other authorities that could possibly become involved in this but which would not get us our money back. I'm thinking of Advertising Standards Authority perhaps for the website and what it advertises, the Office of Fair Trading (but this might just the be big brother of TS and just as useless to us).

    4. This is an interesting question to which I'd like to know the answer. Based on the assumption that 'if you can't beat 'em, join em' in terms of being a disinterested authority - I suspect the bailiffs have had their money and tapped on the door and left it at that.

    5. The surprise in all of this (for me anyway) was the effort Royal Mail have made. Yes - I take it all back about how useless they are etc... (and I've had lots of that too in other matters). But to be fair and give credit where it is due - they have been helpful. When unable to deliver my Special Delivery letter to the empty Aberdeen address, they actually made enquiries to the neighbouring properties before discovering the people had 'gone away'. After delivering my LBA to the Bagshot address they ensured they got a signature AND printed name (C Watson) and it was available to for download as an EPOD (Electronic Proof Of Delivery) a few days later.
  • I am also owed about £100 by simply 3g. Quick question. If no one can find them what stops me from ordering a phone and sending them a recorded delivery empty box and say that it was in there when I sent it. They are hardly going to take me to court. If they do I can then take them to court at the same time. I am stealing from Simply3g or say the 3 network?.
