Dear all,
Just had a very interesting update in developments.. I googled Bagshot House, Surrey and found just one other company trading at that address called "John Russell Associates (01276 453 100)." I gave them a phone and stated that I was having difficulty sending a package to Simply Communications, did they know if the company could still be found at that address. The lady on the phone became very edgy and non-commital before passing the telephone on to one of her colleagues. A second later, a chap answered the phone and said that [surprise, surprise] the company had gone into liquidation "today!" [as if! how convenient!!] and that thir Bagshot House office had been vacant for nine months... I telephoned redelivery customer services at Royal Mail and they were able to confirm that there was no redelivery service in action for simply 3g /communications at Bagshot House, Surrey .. But all the while, their website is still operational and they still ask people to send cashback requests to Bagshot House.. Is it just me? Or do other people think that John Russell Associates have some connection with Simply 3G? (ie signing for and passing on mail?). Anybody have any ideas on how this suspicious activity could be investigated? Could it be one for the police?! I'll certainly be telling my bailiff!!!0 -
Well I am sure that there were different signatures for two special delivery items i sent them. One looked like it said C Watson and the other was illegible. Neither signature looked like that of the person who signed as the MD on my court papers (could not make out the signature though on that one it was just a squiggle).
This is really starting to p*ss me off. You would think that Trading Standards would be able to do something about this. Why does noone ever stand up for the consumer?£2008 for 2008 club member 3360 -

There is also a Michael Robinson Associates and a Michael Robin (Financial Advisors) listed at the same address with the same phone number.
They have also got Byte Consulting (IT Specialists) and Optiglo (Fibre Optic Lighting company) at the same building according to google. So it is either a HUGE building or a collection of two-bit companies all under one roof.
This is juts getting more and more annoying:mad:

Well I have obtained legal advice and I have contacted MCOL it would appear it is much cheaper to lodge a new claim than to amend the existing one. And thanks steve I was aware it was my problem, was just putting the question to sarah as she was kind enough to give me the advice that I may have lodged it with the wrong name, the annoying thing is that they are the same company with the same address. Also the registered address for Simply communication uk ltd is aberdeen. Not sure if it's worth lodgin another claim to only get to the position others are in and laying out more money, however, as Sarah says its really start to P*** me off too.
I hate the thought of letting them win.0 -
I rang two estate agents situated on High St, Bagshot, one at no. 41 and the other at no. 53. Both said they didn't think a mobile phone business is trading at 37-39 High St. I suspect Simply 3G are using these premises as a mailing address and have no assets there. Therefore, it would probably be a waste of money sending the bailiffs there. Simply Communications UK also own Simplyb2b which also uses that address. Their website is down at the moment so I don't know whether they are still trading.0

Hi There,
I too have been affected by the non-payment of their cash back deal (£420.00), I sent the LBA already and now my next action would be MCOL.
Being reading all your post, and I understand after the court order the bailiff couldn't make this out, as the company is not existing in that Bagshot address.
I have some queries here.
1. Simply3G is a registered company under TS, what action TS suppose to do to solve this issue?
2. Can we complain this directly to Police?
3. Can we complain to any other department like (watchdog/ofcom...)
4. Company house tells, the Bagshot address is still active for Simply 3G, but why Bailiff action failed?
5. Royal mail delivers properly to that address, who was the recipient, can we talk to Royal Mail?
We are no longer foolish..... we need to take a effective action immediately to get out that hidden rat........0 -

The biggest crime here is that trading standards insist on giving advice to the likes of us, when what they should be doing, is taking action against the company.
There is a way of getting their bank details and getting an order to recover monies that way. It could backfire and end up costing a couple of hundred quid to boot, so not sure it's worth it.0 -

Both my husband and I have contracts with this company and haven't received a penny back from them.
However, because my husbands account wasn't set up correctly in the first place, this led to Vodafone cancelling his contract and so not fulfilling t&c. I knew this wasn't our fault, so I rang Simply 3G.
This was in Oct, when they still had employees answering phones! I spoke to 2 different people, Jason and Jonathon. I was told the best thing to do was write to the MD, as he was the only one who could overrule the t&cs.
The name I was given was Paul Haldame. I never did write to him as Vodafone wouldn't give me anything in writing to say that it wasn't our fault the DD wasn't set up properly, so I didn't think it was worth it.
I have written several emails asking why I haven't got my cash back yet - only one reply to say they were in financial difficulty. I have written to Watchdog - no reply. I rang consumer direct today, and they told me that trading standards are working with the company and will be contacting customers shortly to offer them a % of the money they are owed - I think I will believe it when I see it!
I came upon this thread purely by accident and was amazed to see how many people this has affected, but hopefully the name I had will help someone get something back from this company. By the way, any advice on what to do would be greatly appreciated, not well up on consumer laws and rights.
Good luck to us all0 -
