Okay this is about the iphone4
Does not have enough features that suit me for me to even consider buying it.0 -
What is Genius?
Genius in iTunes - Google
Makes a playlist that you'll enjoy from your music collection from one song.. So you say "make a playlist from this song" and it does it.
It doesnt do it based on genre eitherthat would be too easy. It uses many different methods

Of course... there are always fan boys (damn I hate that term... thanks for nothing America) on both sides.MercilessKiller wrote: »And you're spot on - its about choice. I choose to go with a sexy beautiful fast working device which has eveyrthing i want, plus Genius!
One feature not ANY other device has. Genius.
I agree personal choice is based on your own needs and preferences... those both vary in everyone so no one persons opinion will necessarily be relevant to another.
I too would like to know what qualifies as "Genius" in the iP4 though?
In the early iPhones maybe, they were a revolution and if they hadn't started it all off then we might still have been using rubbish Nokias with fixed keypads today...0 -
 I know were 588 posts in now and i've been joining in too but as the thread starter can I respectfully ask for all the stupid "Andriod is better" posts to stop. This is about the iPhone 4 so can we keep it on topic and prehaps discuss about features, design, possible costs, what your planning on doing on the 24th, are you gonna pre order if possible or queue? Will it be your first iPhone, post any new pictures, reviews or anything you can find to get us excited about the next generation iPhone rather than discuss Andriod which I personally have no interest in.
This thread is gonna become so soooo boring if all people are reading is......
"my phone is better than yours" posts yawn
In fairness, that traffic is two way. I read this thread as I was interested in the new iPhone and only starting posting in response to equally 'stupid' gloating about 'killing Android'.
But these are discussion forums. Being the OP doesn't give anyone rights to dictate how a thread develops and criticism of the product and of any unrealistic claims are, IMO, completely on topic. There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
It's for the many and not the few. Be sure it's out there looking for you.
In every town, in every state. In every house and every gate.
Wth every precious smile you make. And every act of kindness.

So now I go out and buy one of those desire phones, then - is that right? So that people don't think I'm a chav? Right? Just because you say so? Right?
Uh huh....
You see, to me, this is the problem with some iPhone users - as soon as you dare to criticize their "precious" they throw a hissy fit. The post by Morph3us that was quoted did not tell anyone on this thread to go and buy a Desire - they merely said that they enjoy the reaction they get from a friend when they tell them the Desire is better.
IMHO they are right too about Apple being a victim of their own success - the iPhone does appear to have become the phone of choice for a certain section of society.
If someone wants an iPhone (or not) that is their choice.
What really gets me is this necessity for a lot (not all) of iPhone users to constantly refer to their iPhone when talking about phones - what I mean by that is
"Oh, i'll have to go, my iphone is ringing"
"My iphone does this/that/other"
"I'll just send you a message from my iphone"
Most other mobile phone users dont refer to their PHONES like that (e.g. My Nokia is ringing).
What is this obsession with letting people know they have an iPhone unless its because they think they are better than everyone else. The Daily Mail

Interesting, wonder how it works
Don't have any music on my phone, just my mp3 player and don't use iTunes either.
Guess I will stick to making my own playlists;)0 -

I just google how does genius work and got:
http://www.applematters.com/article/an-in-depth-look-at-itunes-genius/
Basically if you have a huge music collection it picks out songs you prob never listen to that are really good when you're in the mood for that type of music. It is impressive, and also on the iphones....
I use it ALL the time as I dont have to spend hours making my own[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

I don't know what phone you have luckylucky but certainly on the A****** (don't dare use the word anymore) phones you could look at https://www.last.fm
You tell it what songs you like or it can discover it from what you play most and then you can get it to play other songs you might like... or you can just ask it to play songs based on one song that you like at that moment in time.
The software is also available to the iPhone (see i'm not discriminating here) but not sure about Symbian etc.0 -
Oscar, can I just pick up on a couple of points?
There are threads about people having problems and issues with iPhones, picking out two about the Desire doesn't make it a bad phone, it just makles you look petty.
There may not be an Android thread but there are threads for specific phones, e.g. this one about the Desire
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2279955
I'd actually agree with a lot of your points though. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0
