Every Tesco with a Phone Shop in a 50 mile radius I called was out of iPhone 4s.
So I called the local big Tesco (Bury, which according to the website Has Not Got a Phone Shop) & asked after iPhone 4s in stock. Yes they said, both sorts - which did I want & how soon would I be along?
It isn't quite like buying a paper - the thing is partly configured to you on site, which does take a few minutes (and taking the kids along was a Bad Idea, although the staff were brilliant).
Now downloading the latest OS but otherwise WHEEEEE! :j0 -
I bought an iphone 4 supposidly unlocked from my friend. Brand new unwanted upgrade. I called tesco and they sent me my microsim popped it in phone (no service) I called apple they checked the phone and asked me to try restore.
Now my friend has called phones 4 u and they say bring the phone back and they will unlock it as long as I havent updated the software.
Is restoring your phone updated the software.
The phone is still in emergency mode and showing no service. I have also not activate the phone as yet.0 -
I'm with Orange and have just hit my renewal date (that is, I've only got three months of my last contract left and Orange will let me upgrade now to lock me into a new contract before the old one runs out!).
Normally I would say this is a bad time to take out a new deal, as the offers are usually weak because you have virtually zero bargaining power, however, with the iPhone 4 there are no 'deals' anyway.I haven't paid for a handset in years as I've always gone for the best of those offered free against my contract, but I'm really tempted by the iphone4.
For a 'free' iPhone 4, you will be looking at £45+ monthly. They're offering me a 16gb iphone4 for £119 or a 32gb for £219 on a £35 contract for 24 months. This package has 600 mins, unlimited texts, 750mb internet (plus 3gb wireless?) and sat nav. I'm really tempted, but don't know if this is a ooh-what-a-fab-new-gadget moment, or if it's really a good deal.
That tariff is comparable with other networks at that price point.
3 will give you 900 mins and 1Gb data with the handset at £99, if you can wait 2 months and the extra is of any use.0 -
I have been with 3 network for a couple of years, currently I pay £15 per month and have enough phone/text for my needs, but I want mobile internet. I am considering buying an iPhone 4 on eBay and getting a micro sim from 3 ... they say I can use my existing contract till November when I can upgrade to the £15 per month rolling contract which 3 offer.
Can anyone see any pitfalls in my strategy? The iPhone 4 I am thinking of buying is locked to 3 and is an unwanted upgrade (so brand new in box still) from a seller with 100% feedback.
Thanks for any comments or advice.0 -

I have to say I'm quite disappointed with the iPhone 4 so far.
I got the phone on Thursday but my number only ported over today to start using it. Even though the screen quality, battery life is so far better than the 3GS, the signal drop issue is terrible. I'm right handed but hold my phone in my left (and have done with my 3GS) but the way the signal just drops from 4 down to searching is unreal. Not sure if I can cope with this due to travelling to and from work each day. Before I had a 3GS on 3 and the signal was fine, can't see it staying the same on the 4.0 -

Yeah I've ordered the case. Not to be picky, but I've never in my life used a case on a phone because it becomes too bulky. When you pay that much for a phone, you expect it to work wether it has a case on it or not. Very disappointing.0

You'll be surprised at how good the case looks on it. I couldn't have mine without the case now!0

I just phoned their main mobile number up and they said they didn't know when they were getting more in and I should get the Galaxy instead!0
