I was really wavering between getting an iPhone or not. I love my ipod touch and thought it would be really handy to have an 'all-in-one' device. I have a lot of apps already so it would be a kind of economy in that I wouldn't need to buy them again.
I was waiting for the announcement but it's left me a little cold and has convinced me to keep my primary entertainment device (ipod) separate from my phone and get a phone that is primarily a phone.
I'm a little disappointed but I expect next years' iphone 5 to deal with the issues at hand and I'm not really willing to hook myself up for a 2 year contract in the meantime.Approach her; adore her. I have been in two minds getting the iPhone and with o2 at the present time on a sony erricson contract andwhen i went into o2 store yesterday they said they can cancel my current contract for £40 (offer which expried saturday 24th July) and get the 16gb model for £119 and then 335 for 24month or £40 for 18m.
but the news with the tech problems with it have put me off so is it honestly worth buying for my first iPhone so should i just wait and save up for the next one.0 -

iT'S A GREAT PHONE, i WOULDN'T BE PUT OFF BUYING ONE.
I have had mine since launch and although yes there is an issue with the network if you suffocate the aerial with your hand, holding the phone naturally does not cause any problems.0 -

Blah, blah, blah, blah - but how many people are ACTUALLY having a problem with the iPhone 4? You can't answer that and Montgomery Scott would have been proud of your "Physics is the same for everyone". If you follow that up with "Captain! The dilithium crystals are about to blow!!", I'll probably fall over laughing. What with the "Tricorder App", it's all going a bit silly.iT'S A GREAT PHONE, i WOULDN'T BE PUT OFF BUYING ONE.

And here we have a satisfied customer, who can (just as I can with my XDA) suffocate the signal but doesn't have the problem in everyday use.
Stuff physics and answer the question - Are real people ACTUALLY having problems with the iPhone? It's still 1-0 to the iPhone at the mo and even Jimbms who sold his phone hasn't mentioned any issues with the antenna.
I have to say it again:
If you don't want and iPhone 4, don't buy one. If you bought one and you don't like it, bring it back. (clicky)In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0 -

I tried, out of curiosity, to kill the signal as much as I could on my HTC Desire - but failed.
I then borrowed a mates iphone4 for a morning and managed to get it to drop calls and have no signal simply by holding it the way I normally hold any mobile phone.
He still likes it and keeps a bumper on it to solve the problem.0 -
thanks for all teh great advice especiall you Oscar as your right if i want it just get it and if i dont like it just cry and then return it or sell it0

After the lack of any reassurance from Mr Jobs during Fridays press conference it has left me with the feeling of forgetting the Iphone experience all together. Can't see the point of getting the 3GS down to the fact that it is a slightly older phone that is not much cheaper than the Iphone 4.
I know the 3GS works but after the lack of any fix being discussed or released on the iphone 4 by Apple makes me think twice about spending my hard earned cash. Therefore, I have decided to ditch the iphone and look at alternatives.0 -

No they aren't and you were right all along...
Steve Jobs didn't really call a press conference about this issue that doesn't exist and Apple aren't likely to lose £100m+ because they aren't offering free cases to fix this problem that doesn't exist....
1-0 indeed :eek:0
