What DSR is saying here is that you can return a DVD player within 7 days of receiving it having "tried it out", but you cannot do the same with a DVD - Can you imagine what would happen then? "Oh, I watched the film but didn't like it so I want to return it".

It's not a trial period, its so you can examine the item. This is the basis of the reason for the DSR is it not as most people want to believe a home trial.

It's so you can see it, you would not be usually able to try a DVD player in store, but you would see it's size shape and colour which may look different in a photograph.

As I said it needs a lot of clarification, but the phone software being used is obviously an acceptable reason accoring to Vodafone and Three's Lawyers. If anyone wants to take them to court to challenge it then we may get a precident but until then we don't.

I returned a Three phone a couple of months back. They had no problem with you turning the phone on, inserting the sim card and using the features of the phone to see if you 'get on' with it. Where they drew the line is you making phone calls, personalising the settings or sending messages.

There is specific instructions included with the handsets, which I thought to be very fair. I played the phone, didn't get on with it and subsequently sent it back at no cost to me.

My issue wasn't so much with the phone, but the reception (or lack of). To be fair when I called Orange they were fine about it and the phones in pristine condition. If they shrink wrapped the box again you would never know it had been opened/used.

Orange are sending me out a bag to send the phone back in.

You can if you ask to, they will also more often than not have a display model that you can look at, you cant look at it if it is in the box can you.

I think the fact it hasnt gone to court tells you all you really need to know about this.

anyone got any updates from Tesco today?
I haven't tried them yet, just wondered if 'their systems are still down' *YAWN*.

Are they out of stock over the phone as well as in the stores?

what do the tesco iphones display as their carrier logo? and is there a tesco branded voicemail. (i'm very vain)

They display the network as 02

The voicemail is linked to the iphones voicemail button - no branding.

Latest iPhone complaint: the proximity sensor isn't configured correctly, meaning that some people, while on a call, are turning on mute, dialing other numbers, sending text messages etc with their ear.

Bit of a lame post, seems this was posted in haste by some yank and has already been proven to be just an incorrect setting which corrects when you do the correct settings. Remember real stupidity will always defeat artificial intelligence.

Unfortunately I cannot see that from work as it is deemed a hacking site. But that does nto mean to say there are not an aweful lot of people in spend time fiddling with their new toy and mess the settings up, I think I remember something similar happening with the HTC earlier on due to users not knowing what they where doing whilst playing.
