To be honest, I think Face Time on 3G will be a software update rather than hardware. iPhone 5 is more likely to be the iPhone 4G.

You think 4G will come as soon as iphone 5? I'm expecting it to take a little longer!

Maybe we could be in for a surprise next year.. some variant models?

I may be a bit thick here but I have seen people saying their wifi limit is capped, how can wifi be capped when its free, nobody here logs on to wifi, the main town area is enabled and you just connect, if your outside of town or your home area you use 3G

I've been intruiged about that as well jimbms... It does seem a bit strange to cap wi-fi usage..

It can be done because as you proxy through a server that records your usage.. If you only get xmb free, once that's used up you'd be asked to pay for further access I imagine...

You may do where you live but the way it works here is that the government have wifi enabled most of the main town, airport and sea terminal with local banks, shops, cafes, bars, businesses etc also having free wifi, so there is no proxy you just connect to the strongest one and away you go. I don't think there is any paid wifi here at all.

Of course unconfirmed - we wont know for sure till next June!

Hi Jim,

The "free wi-fi" is for hotspots that usually charge.. so lets say BT Openzone provide wireless at £5 an hour or something, the providers are giving us 500mb free on certain contracts etc...

In other words, you can always use your wi-fi for free with no charge thus if you can connect to a free wireless hotspot then you can use ita s much as you like

But some wireless hotspots that charge are also going to be free but only for xmb - does that make sense?
